Okay, here's my setup:
-Sony DB940 reciever (approx $500), DTS, Dolby Digital, has optical and coaxal digital inputs, 110w x 5 channels. in a nutshell it's an ES for $200 less (even the sony rep told me that one)
-Boston Micro 80 front and center speakers ($100 each) good all around satellite speakers
-Boston Micro 80 matched rears ($200 / pair) bi-polar, voice matched for the fronts
-DCM 10" 100watt powered sub ($200) a steal for that price, and damn good
-monster cabling (~$200)
so for around $1400 i think i got a killer sound syster...:)

Actually, it's kind of interesting if you look at vaporware for 1999, by year end of 2K most of these things had come true: broadband, SDMI (coming and going), Diablo II, and Netscape 6.0 (as bad as it may be). I guess better late than never (read: Dikatana). -------------------------------------- -------------------------
You would think at this rate, someone would actually use a DoS for a good purpose and take out some of those ad servers.... ------------------------------------- --------------------------
though that would really help with tech support, you could literally diagnose what the problem was over the phone "sir, just hold your phone up to the computer, i need to have a consultation with it" --------------------------------------------- ------------------
I know for a fact its on the DOS part of the WinNT - I386 setup on Workstation and Server, you have to scroll to the bottom and hit F8 to agree ------------------------------------------- --------------------
I wouldn't say that. I have had ATT for about a year, and have yet to have a serious sound problem (maybe 1 out of ever 25 calls needs a reconnect), in fact i come through crystal clear according to most people. I live in San Antonio, where is used to have SWBell for 2 years and they screwed me over, with bad serivce and billing. ---------------------------------------- -----------------------
IBM can choose what they want to support or not, it is their equipment. If you don't like it, go buy something else, it's there loss. Though i think their shooting themselves in the foot like this. ------------------------------------------- --------------------
Also you have to make sure that your mobo is a socket A and not a slot A, i know earlier Athalon's shipped as slot A's (in which case there are some higher speed Athalons you can get), for the most part though the Thunderbird processors are socket A.
This is a sad bit of news, I was very interested in SX because of its ease of use and customizability (sp?) with it's searches... well any other suggestions out there? ------------------------------------------ ---------------------
"First, IDE hard drives do not fare too well in a bumpy car." "Get your suspension looked at. I've used my laptop on many occassions without a single problem."
Yes but you are talking about the 2.5" laptop drives that are designed to take shock, this is using a standard 3.5" drive which is not as G-proof

Isn't this thing nothing more than a self-contained beowulf cluster??
damn,/. has only managed to corrupt 17% of me so far --------------------------------------------- ------------------
If you read the info on it, under the 3D section is says: "(Note: the display is not suited for active or passive stereographics)" -------------------------------- -------------------------------
Though it makes you wonder if our exsistance is similar to the idea of "if you put enough monkeys on typewriters they'll type out a shakepear play" ------------------------------------------- --------------------
I can relate to that... 5 hours of Carmageddon, me driving in a parking lot with people walking exactly the way they do in the game.

Frozen CO2 is nothing more than dry ice. When it sublimates it will turn into a gas (it is also found in the coke you are probably drinking while reading this), which is nothing more that what you breathe out every time. A whole block of dry ice can sublimate without it doing anything to you. What you may be thinking of is CO, or Carbon Monoxide, which *is* a deadly gas. But as for CO2 feel free to let it out... it's good for the plants.

Wouldn't 10! a year be 3,628,800 per year?
Yes folks, that was a joke.
