Of course religion has its good sides, I think a lot of people behave better than they might have because they think God/Allah is watching or it affects their karm
I disagree. religion amongst murderers is higher than in the general population, suggesting religion has a negative effect on morality.
you may. BUT. you should also keep the system as it is before deciding to act on AGW or not. keeping the system as it is means : stop burning fossil fuels.
How about comparing it to the total cost, over time, of other sources of energy
solar and wind already have won that race. they already are cheaper than any of the other technologies, even without factoring the externalities. so the question is : is this new solar tech cheaper than the currently-on-the-market panels
i think the most important feature for this technology would be cost/kwh. does it deliver that ? (surface area we have enough of)

Anybody use a 4K display for programming / development work? Good or bad idea?
i would LOVE that. I am now using 2 * 1920*1080, and i would gladly trade them in for a 4K. I would love to be able to see more code, multiple windows side by side, and more vertical space would eliminate a lot of scrolling
24" 1920*1080 are pretty cheap right now, Last year I got one for 99€ , but usually they go for about 120 - 130 €. While for a 2560*1440 27", you pay at least 400 €; make that 300€, and I'm getting one NOW.
and it isn't the building part which we are bad at, it's the managing, planning,... part we are bad at. I truly wonder if those chines reactors are up to specs, are all millions of parts completely on spec (or are there sub-par components ?)
the actual problem has been shoddy workmanship and poor project management.
This should be the main focus of distrust in nuclear power; an din my humble opinion the reason why we we shouldn't ever build nuclear power plants ever again.
The ultimate step to controlling reality is to erase all evidence of a reality that contradicts the one you desire
what do you think murdoch is doing, by buying every media he can ?

Nuclear will make baseload 24/7/365 with PLANNED downtime
are you saying nuclear has NO unplanned downtime ?
And i will say it again : nuclear power is prohibitively expensive.
The bible (old and new testament) are just plain fiction.
>competition
wake up to the real world please. competition does not work with less than 4 sellers.
'our roads are engineered wel' that's possible. But humans are still a bunch of idiots.
and profit must always be positive. no, scratch that, profit must increase every year.
It already exists. tesla has demonstrated a battery swapper on their model S swapping the battery in a lot less time than a gas refill.
Battery swapping "technology" ?
The KISS-principle is probably the most important thing to keep software quality up, more so than tools and language.

about 2500 * 1500 should suffice for now.
when will we finally get hihger than 1920*1080 resolution monitors at a decent price ????

I take it you haven't had much experience with building contractors yet ? or managers ?

Monopoly is a good staple to have around
NO. it's boring. it's very dependent on luck.
maybe you should try out ghost stories http://www.boardgamegeek.com/b... and yggdrasil http://www.boardgamegeek.com/b... . those are "easier". *cough* *cough*. (so I lied, sue me ...)
