No, GPUs were made for a very similar task: parallel iamge processing. It is similar in the same way that your visual cortex, used for input, is arranged in much the same way as a GPU is, for output. The potential for efficiency gains from using GPUs better has barely been scratched. Sure, some special purpose code like s-expression evalutation can be accelerated by ASIC, but it would be a serious mistake to assume that is all there is to AI.

The alternative is to fade, like *BSD, which now hangs on mostly as an Apple symbiote.
That is fantastic news that they are targeting 120 fps ! I hope this helps push all the other vendors (phones, monitors, etc.) stop stop targeting a shitty 30 fps experience.

The release was at the last minute because that is when it is most effective, with the least time to counter it. They were incrementally improved the tactics that played out so effectively in the American election hijack.
