...it makes sense that Android is being targeted, it has the market share...
Speaking as an Android fan, that is a cop out. Better we should fully concentrate on examining the attack vectors and closing them. IMHO, the major attack vector is Google's project governance: Android is not a faux-open project, therefore gets a tiny fraction of the peer review that is possible. Next item on the list would be: a security model designed on a whiteboard in a marketing meeting. Typical megacorp engineering approach, by the way. Third thing to regard with high suspicion: Java and anything to do with it. I am sure the list goes on. At least Linux itself is pretty tight, but as long as Google gets free run with no adult supervision, anything can happen.
I can't remember the last time I used IE(some version), seriously...I can't...must be like 8-10 years ago, or the numerous times I used a Windows computer...tried to follow an e-mail link that wanted me to use IE....when I denied it...just wanted to fire up my FireFox, so many times MS tried to force me to use IE, and I always ignored it because it never gave me what I want in the first place. Good riddance. RIP IE.
The only PC I saw lately where somebody habitually clicks the E instead of the Fox is completely malware ridden to the point of unusability. I figure, leave it that way, there's no point cleaning it up, it will be that way again in a day or two. Eventually I will stick in a new hard disk with Ubuntu on it and there will be no need to explain why it's better.
America certainly has it's issues but Putin seems determined to turn Russia into a nuclear armed banana republic. Look at this list. Russia, styling itself a great power, has impoverished its people to a state worse than Croatia and 56 other countries. Not far ahead of Botswana. Amazing power, that.
Mass adoption of electric cars is inevitable as soon as electric cars consistently outperform gasoline at a similar price point, which in turn is inevitable. Until then things will move in fits and starts, and for now, "limited" accurately describes the markets. But Daimler-benz would be nuts to deny that the writing on the wall. I suppose they feel the time is right for a bit of FUD.
A timely reminder why users should stick with a stable, proven OS such as Win7...
Interesting spin on it. The rest of the world seems to perceive it as a timely reminder that they should be seeking any way they can to escape Microsoft's tentacles as soon as possible.
Android has just over 50% of the US marketshare, hardly "fallen so far".
I suppose that 60% counts as "just over 50%" if you hold your tongue right.

For what?
For "Android also had most malware back then too"

Must be nice to live on that planet where Apple doesn't suck. New stats today say Apple has fallen even further behind.
HmM, $ubtle
Microsoft is a slow follower. Just can't keep up with Linux or even FreeBSD.
Oh well, a bunch of people will pay $10-$35 to see it.
That would not include me. I'm saving my grocery money for The Matrix, part IV.

And once you [blah blah blah] you will understand now the world actually works
I thought it works on Android now?
Just in time for XP to go out of support for most people, now you get this 'well publicized' bug that wont get patched...
A rational observer would view that as borderline suicidal on Microsoft's part. I'm guessing that Satya will go the suicide route and I applaud.
The Romans found out that when you go all fat and corrupt, muscular barbarians invade you.
Try to solve it again, then come to grips with how much smarter you were then.
I'm afraid that's your wish rather than reality.
It would appear to be reality judging from Apple's shrinking market share. For kids, Apple products are something your mom has.
Fast forward to 2014. Apple's products have become dated and uninspiring.
Roughly 10% ahead of Canada and losing ground rapidly.
Haha, no. It is quite elementary that sacrificing market share while increasing prices is a fine recipe for short term gain and long term pain.

Rather... I am impressed as to how well Putin is acting in Russia's best interests...
Is it in Russia's best interest to become isolated as an international pariah and have its economy shrink?
They wouldn't want to offend Russia, because Russia would stop the flow of gas they're siphoning off.
You're making the mistake of presuming rational behavior.
It's $11 Billion. I know that sounds like a lot, but it's not really. Not on a Global scale...
It's .5% of Russia's GDP. Sounds like a lot to me.
Apple toady calls Samsung broken but.
