    It is saying the Google is slipping down the slippery slope of evil, ignoring massive negative feedback as usual, and demonstrating clearly why dominance of their non-open open source browser is a bad thing for everybody except Google.

    "Buying" is the operative word, but it's Microsoft doing the buying in this case.

    True, but desktops are becoming more like typewriters and servers are becoming more like delivery trucks. Consumers tend not to own either.

    Why don't you offer feeback on the changes? I did, and next thing I see is those exact issues being acknowledged. Now that there is a proper news article to comment on, I do not see how disrupting unrelated articles is in any way useful. Quite the contrary.

    Zenimax announced they would not be licencing the rage engine to outside studios. They also said they wouldn't be using it for Elder Scrolls titles. Very strange they didn't just give John a blank sheet to come up with an open world engine to beat Gamebryo. I guess there must have been disgreements over direction. Big missed opportunity for Zenimax, and the community. Imagine an open world tech built to Carmack quality standards, with Zenimax content.

    You set developer mode in bios and poof, you own your device again. So far, no chromeos vender has locked that out, if they ever do then the devices just become training wheels for the internet.

    Source code availability, for one thing. More popular language for another.
