1) US Steel planning to add. Planning. Believe it when you see it. This isn't your grandad's blast furnace, today the steel industry is highly automated. And how many times must you endure this Trump promise charade before you recognize the pattern?
2) What is the chance that somebody from Trump's administration did not "make a deal" to elicit that US Steel press release? (I'll help you here: exactly zero.)
They're a low volume, high price boutique computer case seller.
Sure, there are $2,000,000 cars out there. But not many people buy them. As there may be no value proposition for them.
They stated "tariffs have played a major role raising prices by almost 80 percent." Lots of case makers choose to serve a niche, maybe to avoid being dislodged by high volume offshore manufacturers. Maybe because not everybody needs to be the next Dell. There are many factors of course, but they told you a major one, are you calling that a lie?
Yeah - however the best camera in the world is the one you have with you.
I've had some pretty crap cameras with me, completely incapable of capturing the priceless image I know I could have gotten with a real one. Sure, you will get lots of good photos with a phone, I have plenty of great ones. But what I can do with a DSLR is way beyond.
Let's try an anology that might work on a coding nerd (like me). You know how PHP programmers are completely convinced they have mastered the field? It's like that with phone cameras.
If you're not carrying the separate camera then it's no good to anyone, and that's the ultimate problem with them.
Which was the last hollywood blockbuster shot on a cell phone? Oh wait, they use big, heavy professional cameras. Maybe they are stupid?
I love my SLR, but it also weighs a ton in comparison, gives me backache if I carry it around all day so I only do it when I really mean it.
I usually carry my 5D in a holster, it's a reasonable compromise, it comes out of the bag almost as fast as a pocket camera. Usually you know when you are going to have great photo ops, right? Probably not at the office. Probably at the office party (but be careful what you shoot).
If you are getting a backache from carrying a DSLR in a backpack then you need to examine your backpack, and most probably your lifestyle, something is wrong.
My Pixel 2 is always with me and takes great pictures whenever.
Mine too, but way too often it just make me sad to know what I missed because I did not have the equipment to capture the image I wanted.
Clearly the advantage of dslrs is the lenses. Any other discussion is moronic
Comment is moronic. Lenses are a huge part, but far from the whole story. Shutter speed control. Iris. Actual control over focus. Capacity. Speed. Sensor (yes, a DSLR sensor is different from a phone sensor!). Flash control. Remote flash. Just scratching the surface. It's a huge rich world, that a phone camera only lets you visit as a tourist.
If your memories don't matter to you then yeah, get a cheap phone
If your memories matter to you that much then get a real camera. It does make a difference you know. I wouldn't get too worked about about a phone camera, even the best. Just get something serviceable. I have a prosumer DSLR for serious photos and the phone to cover off that memory thing. You can get great pictures out of both, but the DSLR is so much better there is just no comparison. Can't be explained in mere words to someone who hasn't tried it. Borrow one and try it, then you will chill about phone cameras. Truth: after a few thousand DSLR shots, your phone shots will magically get better. Most of what makes a good photo isn't the camera, it's the photographer.
A master of grammar, you, yes that's it. Maybe make your insightful argument even stronger by adding in some more lolcat. And needless to say I am astounded by the depth of your understanding of computer science and the deep insights you contributed to the thread, they just keep coming, how do you do it? Absolutely in awe.
As other people have pointed out, Julia already has things specific to it that fit the role of classes, that have mathematical analogues, without being like classes
How insightful. Yes Julia has things that are somewhat like shitty classes.
features, like coroutines which are a better form of goto, why are you whining?
Why are you an ass? Civil discourse does not use words like "whining". And if you think that coroutines are a form of goto then you are stupid too.
Nothing of substance has changed in the Microsoft world. Especially, attitude has not changed, you are living proof of it. And for your information, not a lot has changed in the Windows kernel since Windows NT either, but I would not expect a random Microsoft troll such as yourself to know a whole lot about that. Linux on the other hand changed radically (while preserving external interface stability) in that same period.
One thing in particular has not changed about Microsoft and its products: they remain a clear and present danger to corporate security, and even to democracy.
even after towing that missile cruiser [wikipedia.org] back to port.
That case is ancient.
Of course it is, but nothing changed after that, that has to tell you something.
The LSE fiasco is not ancient, Windows is still banned from the world financial system. Not to mention the top 500 list. Islands of sanity. We need more.
The security risks of using Windows 7 outweigh the time wasted de-bloating Windows 10.
What about the privacy risk of Windows 10, and the fact that it is still riddled with vulnerabilities? Just stop abusing yourself and install Linux. If you absolutely must run Windows then run it under KVM. I hear tell that Windows on KVM is actually more efficient than Windows running on the metal, perhaps because of more efficient file system and block device handling.
Google learned this lesson and banned Windows from inside their network, a Windows machine can now be connected to the network only with VP approval. Other organizations are perhaps more stupid.
Windows is also banned from the world's financial systems after the LSE fiasco. But US Navy is too stupid to ban Windows even after towing that missile cruiser back to port. It should be illegal to use Windows in medical devices, until it does become illegal it should should be a lucrative income source for ambulance chasers.
*Any language* puts Python to shame... except Python plus native compiled number crunching libraries. You know, the ones everybody uses.
Fascinating, how Python apologists are able to convince themselves that its horrible performance is not a reason to use a different tool. Thus the idiocy continues.
You can't have an unrestricted goto and also good support for distributed computing.
Nice handwave. I suppose you win whatever argument this is by having your own private defintion of "unrestricted". And even then you are most probably full of crap.
Personal? It was my understanding that Trump has never declared personal bankruptcy.
That's a pretty fine distinction in the case of a family operation. Ruined either way, without the Russian mob.
Read the thread. I'm not "in awe" of 3000 jobs.
True. Misty eyed with a bit of drool is more like like it.
It is at least 800 this year
A few things.
3) The Tax Foundation estimates that the Trump tariffs will immediately result in the loss of 48,585 jobs and that job losses could number as high as 250,000 Subtract from your 800 (I'll be charitable) then multiply by your precious 3.6 additional jobs. Reality.
4) Everybody knows these things except Trump's "Q pack".
5) Here's another one for you. It's a wave all right, these are not promises, these are things that actually happened.
6) The value of iron and steel produced in 2014 was $113 billion.
7) Software Industry Growth Far Outpaces US Economy, Hits $1.14 Trillion.
8) Go to lake Erie, get some lungfuls of that rust belt air. Yum yum, really miss that rust belt.

See, Microsoft has not changed a bit and Microsofties are still the same, except maybe more bitter now. Thanks for the demonstration.
If I have both a phone and a DSLR with me, I always use the DSLR. Why is that?
Yeah - however the best camera in the world is the one you have with you.

If you're looking for value then G6+ is hard to beat. Looks and feels like a flagship but costs like a burner (nearly...)
I thought that wasn't a thing any more. Don't tell me people still fall for that subsidized phone scam.

If you don't think coroutines aren't a form of goto, then maybe consider you need to learn more.
Idiot.
As other people have pointed out, Julia already has things specific to it that fit the role of classes, that have mathematical analogues, without being like classes

Until branches of mathematics starts using classes and gotos in their theorems, they probably aren't useful in a language for doing mathematics.
I know, right? That's why Julia doesn't have exceptions, modules, macros or coroutines. Oh wait.
I was saying that you are being offensive. You get that a lot, right?
Nothing of substance has changed in the Microsoft world. Especially, attitude has not changed, you are living proof of it. I understand that you take those words personally, and so are offended
You conflate others "being offended" with you "being offensive".

Because having neckbearded snowflakes blah blah dribble woof...
Wow, great job contributing to the conversation. Your dog beats you or what?
Thanks for the clarification. It's still an excellent starting point.
