I agree with this one. It's not like every other corporation (ISPs, cell providers) aren't out there pulling the same sort of crap. I don't care how much you hate a company, the customers don't deserve to have the next 15 years of their lives completely destroyed because some brat kids (yes, kids, i don't care how old they actually may be) thought it would be funny and nifty. Honestly their whole catalog of "internet speak" and memes is just annoying. Every time I see somebody say "for the lulz" it makes me want to punch the next person with a guy fawkes mask in the testicles.
On a totally unrelated note, the government has also been breeding bees in remote locations in corn fields. This definitely is not related to their interest in smallpox.
It's surprising to me that a lot of IM clients are still around with the prevalence of texting. On top of that, most phones now have constant connectivity to things like facebook so people are almost never out of touch. Despite all this I regularly see people using AIM (albeit through other clients like trillian and digsby) or MSN (again through other clients). As a youngin' in these parts I do remember using AOL 8 where screen names and chatrooms were cool and that's where we'd all go to talk about Toonami or setup games of starcraft.
you can shout boycott all you want, but unfortunately most people will just not care as long as they still have a platform to play their games on. not everybody has been affected by these issues and those are the people who will continue to support them. until Atlus and nippon ichi start regularly creating for other systems, i certainly will continue to use playstation systems because that's where these publishers are putting their best titles.
