There's just one problem those in this society cannot eliminate those who are of a lower class. Truth be told I have felt alienated from the world of high technology since the stupid pentium craze. I have never even had the chance to get ahold of any of this at all. I have had little incentive to get excited at all from new developments in technology that will assist others such as many of the egocentered in this world in just gaining a larger slice of the American pie. What is the point of all the advances? I see little in any of it. Do I really care if someone gets even a slightly faster processor out to market? No. Why should it matter. The more society "progresses" the less it cares for those who cannot keep up. I probably have a greater base of knowledge than a good 90% of the computer public by virtue of my running and knowing the internals of my operating system of choice. People want their exclusive club and that's all. They want all the power for themselves and none for anyone else. Well the world is big and sooner or later and I will be one with the 5Gb of ram and 18 processors snubbing everybody is that what is expected in this world? I think that if the situations of nearly every unbalanced situation in this world were reversed we would see a golden age the likes of which the world has never seen. The problem stems from the idea that speech can be limited in any way in which detracts from what they want. I really do not like being refered to as a "bozo" at all in any way sir. I have never as the written reccord can show have defamed a person personally who made a scurrilous comment in my direction. When I make a hardware/software project I will not tailor it to meet the needs of some few who can do floating point calculations by the trillions per second but will help the common man and perhaps make things easier for him in some way. Why is it so hard to put the breaks on some of our advancement to perfect what we have left to drop by the wayside.

Alright I might like intel a little for a reason. It works now and not making me wait for a later date to get any support or until someone in Calcutta, India reads their email. I have linux with a scsi cd-rom that WILL NOT AND HAS NEVER worked under linux because no one really cares the stupid thing works with dos drivers just fine. I have tried most of the common things that try to get it to work: passing parameters, booting dos and then soft booting into linux, even compiled a bleeding edge kernel and got verbose scsi code and a bunch of crap in there; almost took up all my 16M of ram and still didn't work. Now did anyone from the industry make sure this didn't happen? No. So if I have even any trouble at all on a supported archieture what will happen if I use anything that is not easily supported. Even rebellion gets to a point where it becomes futile in almost any aspect. Well great first with all three computers that I had it was X-windows, then it's the worthless cd-rom, now with the machine (besides the cdrom) it's the useless video-card that cannot get any more than 16 colors. Why do I get stuck with so much junk? Anyone else got such rum luck as I have? I guess the only solution is to save $5,000+ US (about 20 years) and buy a new computer so that no one can claim it's the hardware's fault.

History and social circumstances have given rise to many difficult and strange occurances happening because of lack of sensativity. Hitler for one was greatly misunderstood and turned to creating a sphere of friends who had views of people who were equally disinterested in life. I dare to bet that if he had the net he might have turned out better. Might even be quite the personable guy. Back in High School I spent much time surfing the net and screwing off. This cut into many areas of my life. I had neither the time nor the interest in many areas of my life. However because I am quite driven to not fail (never have failed a class once) I managed to do quite well. The knowledge that I gleaned from the web surfing morphed into my love for linux and computers in general. I am taking classes that will make me a CS major due to this exploration. So what do I think of people who poo poo the internet I say that they are not really CS majors or people who care for the future. Most people of the future will not be concerned with any aspect of face to face communication. Coders of today do not even have to meet employers now they can just use e-mail and cvs to do their work and their bosses can check on all of their work up to the minute without fail. If I do such transactions all day long and I code for 8-10 hours a day does that count me as an addict? I would think they mean screwing off then in this case this would mean that they think the all this cannot be productive. If we use logic we can infer that since corporations are the ones' producing all of the content (at least the content that individuals use on a daily basis) that these are things that do not count or are at least not beneficial to people who are healthy or of sound mind. How would this be different from real life where all content that matters in a capitalistic society is produced by corporations this would mean that this is also is of no consequence. In most circles of everyday people the said beliefs are associated with elitests. So what matters in society today doing somewthing well or doing something that is just impressive with regard to a sociel cause? What makes this group of people different from those who wish for death to humans to make the planet safe for all other life forms (they do exits apparently a very extreme group of environmentalists) In places such a europe where most forms of behaviour are tolerated in a more liberated fashion I can not easily believe that this can be said and not be contradicotry. How far are we away from a society that will pass laws preventing people from being anti-social, from moving away from an area unless the government approves, forced programs of anti-depressants and other mind altering drugs to make people always feel good? Not very long I shall say. The problem is that at the present there are too many who would resist changes such as these and are therefore instituting them slowly and subtly. I think that acts of a self destructive nature should be tolerated and allowed to let people enjoy an optimum life.

I think the cases of people able to use drugs without getting addicted is much like the people who can smoke til they are 95 or the people who drink every single day some can take it others cannot most likely some small adaptation on the level of the immune system or metabolic processes. I most likely would never use drugs because my family line has not proven to be well adjusted to it. My great-grandfather was an alcholic and I would rather not become something similar.

So what should I do if I think the bible sucks? Just learn Hebrew and Aramaic and read it? I just kind of dislike when modern people try to take a spin on something that perhaps is not that translatable to modern life. I have some experience with what could be termed Greek culture in reading a book entitled "Zorba the Greek". While it is possible to think that the british may be dull I personally would not want to be so uninhibited as to be a fellow such as zorba. As for the homosexual thing well I am a little skeptical when people say that Abraham Lincoln was gay and such. I don't really care if people want to become homosexual now (like Stephen King says in the Gunslinger series the world moves on) however why are the british stuffy if they didn't have huge orgies in public and do something that was against their religion? This is just what was predicted by David Reisman when he said "The only followers left in the United States today are those unorganized and sometimes disorganized unfortunates who have not yet invented their own group.". What this boils down to is that you can't judge a book or a society by it's cover even in our enlightened day and age we produce some of the worst/boring dribble on the face of the planet just look at the ANSI C++ standards document or maybe a government report. I think each society evolved in its' own way and method. Perhaps this is why we now have a more liberal group in the Europeans today and had more repressive communist oriented/socialistic societies in the Eastern European countries. From chaos into order and order into chaos basic principal of math/chaos theory.
