  2. Cake walk and a lousy mic on Creating Music Using Your PC? · · Score: 0

works fine for me. I have Cakewalk 9 Pro Audio a soundblaster and a regular desktop mic. If getting started is what you are doing then this is the best, cheapest and easiest by far. make a new track, enable record, put the mic up to the speaker and record. You dont need all that fancy midi stuff that will just lock you into a keyboard. I record with electric and acoustic guitars, basses, vocals, keyboards and even from drum programs on my computer. File format is not a concern for you.
Trust me. email if you have ?'s but itll take a few days for me to get back to you.

  5. A little more elucidation on your first statement. on Headless Windows 2000 Servers? · · Score: 1, Interesting

I run several 2000 and NT servers that dont need VGA to boot. In the boot.ini (NT Loader cfg file) there is an option you can set for VGA Mode ( "/basevideo /sos"). This is the equivalent of Safe mode for NT and 2000, reducing the res + color pallette to 640x480@60 with 16 colors. It never has had anything to do with NT's detection of video HW, it just uses a basic driver in case you borked the refresh rate or something else.

Terminal services needs to show you a desktop. If it cant load one itself or any video subsystem on the local machine, then how can it get the values to draw you a desktop remotely?
Video driver fail...All dependent apps + services fail... Pinging is a network service, not dependent upon a gui. I'll bet you can even get to files and other services on that machine.

You may want to throw a VGA card in there and configure a telnet server for 2000 and see if you can hit that from a workstation and get stuff done that way.

Saudi arabia does not attract capital, they produce it in the form of a plentiful natural resource - oil.

I think that also more than money figures into this, ie Religion, factors into the situation and may have much more impact in terroristic or politically motivated actions.

Osama, the Taliban, Hambali, Hamas, and many others fight for thier god and thier religion and THAT is thier cause for discontent.
