I know that disabling a few bios options helps with win installs. Try turning off internal and external cache on the CPU (I know this will make your pc a pig, but your using win anyway), along with any other caching/shadowing option. Can you take the disk with Linux/Win32 and boot it from another machine?
I agree, application support for Netware has always been mediocre at best, BUT its file and print services coupled with NDS does make up for some of the lackluster application services.
OTG software www.otg.com has a product called email Xtender, it can do LOTS of cool stuff that you are looking for.
Automatically copy every email and attachment into an enterprise message center
Harness a powerful full-text search engine to give complete access to your messages and attachments
Reduce email server stress and bottlenecks by automatically classifying and migrating messages and attachments
etc, etc, etc,
It works with MS Exchange, sendmail, notes, and a few others.
These folks make some real quality products for document imaging and storage management also.
Give them a call, they will be happy to come demo it for you.
I dont know of many products that DONT ship with a default password, aside from operating systems.
If you dont have enough sense to change ANY default admin account / password, then you deserve to get E-raped by h4X0rz.
Every competent admin I know ALWAYS changes this sort of thing, its just in a large list of post install tweaks for any package. Closing X-server ports, removing the 'Everyone--Full Access' rights from NT shares/ directories.... Stuff like that.

Rocket science or breaking legs.
I agree with the author.
Why would it be so much harder to have an ethernet card in the machine? The manufacturer would only have to put in a $10 chip and rj45 connector. The configuration interface aould be the same - youre really only configuring the TCP/IP differently, and that would be the ISP's support problem. you need a new driver for the device...BIG fat hairy deal!
youre all just pissed that some run CE and not linux, making it harder 4 u to hack. (xcept TiVo)
And what REAL GEEK doesnt have ethernet (in some capacity, thinnet even) at home?
