This is probably offtopic but I've been using Squirrelmail on my website for years. I like it but it's FUGLY. I've waited those years to see if they planned on maybe getting rid of the frames or adding real CSS in version 2 but I don't see any of that on the horizon. Updates and patches help fix bugs from internal and external sources but don't add much to the experience. I've written plugins and modified the source but those need to be updated/changed on every upgrade. Can SquirrelMail be made to be non-FUGLY?
I've tried Horde (PITA as mentioned above) and Roundcube is nice but it's been in beta v0.1-rc2 for 2 years and is missing many features found in Squirrelmail. Can anyone point me to a free/open source webmail app alternative to SquirrelMail that's not FUGLY?
Despite the previous post, the Tiger Woods game for Wii is terrible. Your player will hit the ball before you swing (generally in the water) and the graphics are a lot worse than Wii Sports. This game alone is probably why people throw their remotes at their Tv!
...the naughty parts of these movies violate public decency and can therefore face government stricture.
Is it just me or is it goddamn scary that people say things like this and actually mean it? I read 1984 as a high school student and you'd think that the thought police and newspeak were only a few years from existance. What is it with Americans anymore that they are religious zealots who are frightened of anything that could possibly be "indecent" or even "thought provoking" and need the government or Fox News to tell them what to think or do? Europeans are lightyears more tolerant (wiser) than we are of nudity, sex, honest news coverage, drugs, and reactions towards terrorism and death. Meanwhile, people are actually arguing that copyright infringement is okay if they're doing it to "clean up" movies that don't need cleaning up? Abortion of an unborn baby is wrong even if the mother's life is in danger but in 17 years, after a pretty damned poor public education and divorced parents, we'll execute him if he shoots up his school for "no reason". Torturing a person is legal if we're doing it to the "bad guys".
Are we turning into the very beginnings of a society that needs a government to monitor everything its citizens do and think? One that has secret prisons, monitors your communications, your finances. I may be taking things too far, in fact I know I am, but I see thoughts like this more often and it scares the bejesus out of me.
I feel the same way as garcia here. Fortunately, I've only owned Nintendo hardware and dispite the hype that surrounded PS1, PS2, and the new PS3, you simply cannot beat the creativity behind Nintendo.
How many FPS's do we need with a sci-fi/WWII/military theme? (Are any of them better than Wolf3D?) Do we really need another Madden game with shinier helmets? The PSP is great if you want to buy a $300 handheld for your kids to break/lose but why does it need to have better graphics than your PC?
Do yourself a favor and pick up ANY of the WarioWare games (Twisted is awesome) or ANY of the DS games for a truly unique experience. If you have enough friends and GameBoys, try Zelda Four Swords for 4-way Zelda. Wind Waker was blasted by some for not being "realistic" but (despite being way too easy) was a refreshing departure from all the "real" games out there. Also, try Blast Corps, the New Tetris, Tetrisphere or many of the N64 games.
With all the great games/toys Nintendo has put out there, now and in the past, I haven't understood why they've lagged in 3rd place. The only reason I can think of is people under 20 who have never dropped a quarter into Donkey Kong or ever held a Game & Watch think the next Tony Hawk game is actually new and interesting gameplay are the ones funding Sony and MS's new consoles.
The Revolution will be the only one I buy because the games may not come as quick as they do on the other systems but at least when I get one, I'll be assured a good time. (as well as getting to play SMB 3 without messing with my NES!!!)
I agree with antifoidulus, but based on the reports, I think it'd be more appropriate to have a broken PSP icon. Perhaps one on fire.;^)
This is not a good first step for Sony if they wish to compete with the GBA and DS...
How exactly is this insightful? I don't know how old you are but a young child can play with something as simple as a spoon for hours at a time.
For most adults who know exactly how something like a gyroscope works, the mystery of the toy itself is gone. A child on the other hand sees wonder in everything new. How many of your old toys do you find now and say "Why the hell did I play with this?"
To know why the submitter is putting a gyroscope under his x-mas tree you have to have the insight into a kids mind.
From an admitted (should be committed?) Super Mario Bros. fan, the Super Mario Bros. movie sucked. There were elements inside the movie that reflected the original inspiration (Bob-ombs, Goombas, etc.) but the rest of it was way off. The writers probably thought they needed to explain everything when they were better off just making the game come alive on screen. A talented writer could have taken what story elements are already in the series and flesh it out into something that better matches the original spirit of the game.
This is exactly what happened in The Resident Evil movie which was/is, IMO, the best video game inspired movie. Watching it was like "living" the game. The viewers learning what was happening along with the characters. Not to mention the action was very similar to the game. This action aspect wouldn't be trivial for Super Mario Bros. but with Metroid it should be simple.
I've heard of Metroid the movie being a possibility for a long time now. I was only a bit nervous but now that Jon Woo's name is attached to it, I'm down right scared. I didn't like Mission Impossible because it was so much unlike the TV show. I simply hated MI2 because it was even worse and dumbed down with all the annoying action sequences. He can bankroll this movie but I hope to hell he doesn't have much to do with the story/creative elements.
Metroid has a very strong meaning to the people who can find every missle tank in Super Metroid's Zebes. I can only hope this modern day mythology can get the same careful treatment that LOTR received.
How does one of the users exit that screen without destroying the whole session? (Too lazy to Google. (That's pretty lazy.))
