kde is definitely the better choice for 'average win users' (no, i don't have anything against gnome & co.). and if this distribution succeeds in converting only a single win user to a linux user, ANY means is appropriate.
maybe HE is ignorant - but in one respect he is right: you can't cope with traumatic experiences by means of those ostentative self-exposures. believe me, i had to find that out for myself. talk to friends, or if you don't have any, talk to a psychologist (no psychiatrist). but talking to strangers WON'T help.
if you were educated you would have noticed long time ago that good education in a nation-wide sense can never be achieved by 'industrial' (=economic) approaches. if education is not free, it is not good but biased and limited.

since egcs is based on gcc, and gcc is gpl'd, commercialization of egcs will most likely never happen.
