Oh, and Mailman, too! This is great. Not that AMS hasn't worked well for us (limited users). But more open source solutions is better. And Mailman lets me get rid of our ancient Stalker Internet Mail Server (not that it doesn't work great, it's just the Mac it runs on is ancient and could die any moment)!
I kept getting spam from some dumbshit outfit trying to sell me... I don't really know or care. It's one of those so-called "opt-in hot deals" marketing scams that try to convince people they signed up for "today's daily deal" or some similar bullcrap. Anyway, they had their name somewhere in it, so I tracked down the actual marketing corporation that runs it. I found their 800 number and phoned. They have one of those "enter the name of the person you wish to reach" sorts of phone systems, so I think to myself, "there's gotta be a Smith there," so I type 7648... and get "Sarah Smith" or something like that. So, I get her voicemail (this is about 11p.m. my time). I left about a 5 minute tirade about how I'm going to waste fifty times as much of her time dealing with these phone calls as I do dealing with their spam.
Needless to say, I stopped getting spammed from them. Odd...
I have visited the Apple campus twice. Each time, I was struck by how odd the people were. Except they were brilliant. Everyone we met would be considered "eccentric" by most Americans, but every one of them (well, maybe not the sales drones) would be considered either "intelligent" or "completely geeky." Everyone seemed free to think their own thoughts and express what they felt. Neat folk.
I also happened to visit the Microsoft campus (just once, though). While they would also be considered "odd," this was more in an "awkward" fashion, almost as if they belonged to a cult. Very Amway or est.
Anyway, as long as the cappuccino machine is working, I'd be happy, shakra adjusted or not...

It's wrapped up in the "digital consumer," for which digital music is the most "mature" activity, and which Apple does very, very well.
The future also includes video, audio production, and so on.
:)
iPod, UX-50. iPod, UX-50. CiPod, UX-50. Crap! No fair! I really didn't want to be a gadget freak, but crap! These are too cool!
That's great. Never really been a heavy user (we don't buy white boxes, and corporate support revolves around RedHat), but it has always impressed me.
Good job and keep on keepin' on!
PS - best distro name ever!
as long as the caches occassionally contain items such as APM (anti-personnel mines) and/or SARS-infected materials...
DIE YOU STUPID GPS GEEKS!

What the hell. It's only $20. I'm gonna wear it to the mall. At least it's not from Old Navy... Charles
