I am a teenage kid and use my PC for far more than AOL, IM, CDs, and MP3s... you are forgetting PC games my friend. This, of course, ups the ante in terms of components, nothing but high-end for me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go back to fragging people on my uber-ninja box.

BTW, AOL... come on... broadband all the way.

If it happened tomorrow, that would suck, but somehow I would end up getting laid because of the impending doom thing and that would be okay. Then I'd just sit on the couch with a beer and smoke a pack of unfiltereds. Ain't the end of the world grand?

Perhaps one where all you need to do is fill in your relevant regional and personal information (state, representatives name, one's own name). I believe this would strongly facilitate a movement towards legislative action. Plus it would make it easier for lazy people/people with no time, like myself.

Indeed, the government IS evil. A government is, in simplest forms, a body of the people (not just democracy, any government). Since people have the capacity for evil, a government also does and because a government is a magnification of the people it is capable of a magnified evil. Some would construe that I am a proponent of Libertarianism or anarchism or some other such nonsense, but I do not prescribe to any such political affiliation. According to my personal philosophy, to which I prescribe only when it suits me, we (humanity) have dug our hole (basic social structures) and now we must lie in it. Woe to the organisms that ever sought land, we should have never left the ocean.

The high protein diets may certainly have effects in immediate weight loss but long term they are horrendous. Also, eating all of that meat really doesn't help you feel any better. I have cut out all land animals from my diet and subsisted on seafood and vegetarian foods for the last year and I feel great. When you stop eating things like chicken and beef you avoid a lot of saturated fats that you really shouldn't consume. You do need some saturated fats, but that is what sunflower seeds and the like are for. A largely vegetarian diet, or a diet eliminating fatty luxury foods (like steak), may not have the immediate results of the current fad diets but it sets you up for a long and enjoyable life, free of heart disease and all sorts of other nasty things.

Absolutely. The Biltmore Estate is one of the most interesting things in North Carolina. It contrasts wonderfully with the poverty stricken people of the Appalachias not too far away (not intended as an insult to the wonderful town of Asheville, think Deliverance). I feel that it perfectly portrays the gap between rich and poor and makes an interesting statement about what America was, is, and will be.
