Taken from my post on another board:

"Loyalty to a nation is declining. The wealthy are only loyal to themselves, and the future will have them living as citizens of tax-havens. Multimillionaires and billionaires will no longer accept supporting hundreds or thousands of poor people who aren't even the same race. Yes, it does boil down to race. As the US becomes more and more "diverse" the amount of people willing to pay our high taxes dwindles. Successful Indians, Chinese, etc...they aren't going to pay massive US taxes. They have no loyalty to the US at all. All the well-off people with an origin outside the US plan on leaving the US once they stop working and take their wealth back home. People are just using the US to work and earn money, but don't want to invest back into the system. Of course the poor foreigners will all stay to take advantage of social benefits.

The corporation and guilds of the wealthy will eventually become more powerful than countries. The concept of a nation with a population of like-minded people is coming to an end.

socialism only works at all when your population is very homogenous. Once you let hordes of non-whites in, no one with money is going to hang around to help you build your liberal empire.

another thing to note is that religions/shared faith can produce groups of "like minded" people."

I have worked in multiple positions mostly as helpers to the rich and the elite e.g. assistant in family offices, manager in michelin-starred restaurants etc. I have noticed the rich and the elite tend to believe law and regulations do not relate to them - that these rules are simply used to regulate the masses. In other words, they do not think they behave dishonourably or dishonestly - they simply believe they are different and that they are entitled to these privileges. Sure not every single one of them think like that, but I noticed majority of them do. Just my two cents.

  18. Short answer. on Ask Slashdot: How Do You Protect Data On Android? · · Score: 2

There is no way to 100% secure data on smartphones (Android/iPhone/Blackberry) against government level investigations. In fact, there is no way to 100% secure data against mere professional snoopers, both on the data extraction front, and on the wireless snooping front. In case you didn't realize, the philosophy of smartphones is to communicate and exchange data on as many fronts as possible. It is also designed to pack as many sensors to get data on you (microphone, GPS, camera...). Its form factor is also designed to make you take it anywhere you go, meaning you will bring it into all sorts of unsecured environments where losing it is easy. It is designed to be lost or stolen easily be being small and light. The sooner you can accept this, the sooner you will become happier. If you are not a spy, just use the cheapest Nokia phone and use codewords for both text messages and the address book. Also secure it with a chain to yourself. If you are a spy, or paranoid like some Russian businessmen I have met, not only do you use a cheapo Nokia phone, but also make sure to take out the battery everytime in a business meeting. And even then, there are modified phones with internal batteries to record you and broadcast it. Good luck.
