I don't use a Segway, I do unicycling, even to go to work.
It's more fun ! Not really easy to learn, no really as efficient as a bicycle, quite a lot more tiring, but a lot of joy on each trip, and many smiles on pedestrian faces. And as both hand are free, I can read/hold an umbrella. And it's a kind of everyday-sport, better for health than just standing on the segway:-)
My children (I'm a proud Dad of 4 children) started using Macs at 3.
After trying to install an old Pc with Windows 95, and spend most of my time repairing it after they clicked twice or turned it off in the "wrong" way, I switched them to Mac.
I was given old Macs (Mac OS 8), all in one, with colour screen included and just left them near their playground. They started playing with th mouse, trying to hit the keyboard and finally got really surprised when it turned on !
Next, I installed very easy software for children (sorry, french : lapin malin maternelle 1, nounours...) which just show how to wipe the screen with the mouse or randomly hit the keyboard to produce sounds or figures.
Slowly, when they grew up, I explained how to clic and launch small games.
The mac can be turned off / on without any concern, and children can mess up the icons, everything still work !
You might need to download and install MS-CHAP add-on (from http://Palm.com) to be able to connect on a Windows NT 4 with RAS enabled.
Try to search Palm + RAS with your favorite search engine, I'm sure you'll find. It works fine with me, and I can see all my network from my Palm, that's nice !
Btw, you can ping natively from the palm if you go in Prefs / Network and select menu Option / Log. Then try to enter help followed by , you'll see command you can type. But you can also try other commands, such as ping.
