Not exactly, most companies which use encryption products like PGP, will enforce the use of an Additional Decryption Key (ADK) which will encrypt all messages to this key also, so when the lawyers ask for the messages, they will have to be decrypted. No 'ifs' or 'Buts' I'm afraid.

Believe me it ain't that bad.

Its expensive yes, but at least there is _some_ competition in the market from the likes of NTL which provide Cable modem acess in a few cities.

I thought it was bad, then I moved to Paris a month ago. I not only have to put up with a stupid keyboard, rude assholes everywhere you go or a confusing choice of cheese, I can get a telephone from ONLY ONE SUPPLIER, France Telecom, the equivalent of BT (NO COMPETITION WHATSOEVER), cable companies don't do phone services as all the lines belong to FT. I can get ADSL for about £45 per month, yet again, a product from ONLY FT as the cable companies have silly upload/download limits, and after a certain amount, you start paying per the Mbyte.

So to cut a long story short it ain't as bad as you think in the UK. BT are monopolistic pricks yes, but they don not have _TOTAL_ control of the market as FT has.

I think we need to ensure that people serving in the jury have a minimum of education to ensure that they can weight the evidence in a rational manner. This would ensure that the facts are the most important part of the case, rather than the words of a fancy lawyer. In the end, this can only led more a more just court system.

No, people in the jury should be representative of the society in which we live in, so that they make decisions on what is acceptable to them, a section of society, not what is acceptable to one's person's beliefs and opinions due to their education, ie: the judge, or some stuck up bigoted twat who "has been to university".

Instead of just concentrating on developing a BROWSER, they have to (1) Waste time developing add on junk (2) bundle a load of garbage which no one will use. What's so difficult about "coming to an agreement" with a third party developer to bundle their product (Chat/News/E-Mail whatever) with Mozilla?

Had they taken that approach, we *might* have a decent browser by now.
