Having something superconduct at, near, 0 Kelvin isn't all that difficult as everything superconducts at that temperature. Now having a superconductor at "normal" temp's, that would be a huge boost to science.

And trust me, cooling stuff with icecubes won't get the temperature down to 1 Kelvin. you'll have to think a tad harder for that Nobel prize :o)

  6. Democratic? on And The Winner Is... Nobody! · · Score: 1
Isn't a democracy a way for the people to choose their leaders? If that is true, you american's don't have a democracy! Only in a nation without a democracy can a leader be elected without the majority of the votes!

If the USA is a true democracy the candidate with the most votes should win. You american's remain a strange kind of people..

  7. Zip's are the way 2 go on Alternatives To The Floppy Disk? · · Score: 1
    I work at a school where every computer has a zip-drive built-in.
This works perfectly for nearly all students, the only problem is that they need to buy a $99 drive to use the disks at home. But this is worth the investment, Zipdisks are quite reliable (a lot more than "read-error" floppy's) and they can dump a whole lot of rubbish on a single disk.
And even without a zipdrive at home, the students can save loads of stuff to use on the campus.

Thats why i give Iomega and the Zip a thumbs-up, solely on what i have experianced on my school.
(Naturally i'm biased thanks to all those error-prone floppy's, destroying hours of work, but heck, zips are better anyhow...)

Now i think of it, has Iomega any competition on this subject?
