    And New York City has a population density of over 10 thousand per k^2. But they do not have widespread gigabit or ~$20 internet with speeds over 100mbit.

    Population density is a bad argument. It doesn't matter if rural Montana is stuck with dialup, even in our most dense cities we don't have anywhere near the service as the rest of the world.

    Technically peak uranium was decades ago, but only because we stopped mining it almost completely now that we are not making nuclear weapons any more. With the known reserves of uranium we could produce 100% of earths power needs for several hundreds of years with modest population growth if we used efficient feeder breeder reactors.

    The designs for existing nuclear fleet is what? 30? 40? years old? If we would actually make a commitment to nuclear power, modern technology and economies of scale could dramatically slash to costs involved in deploying nuclear technology.

    It is if you are willing to live a modest lifestyle. Even if you only get a 1% return on your investments, that is still 40k a year, fairly close to the US national average income. 2% is 80k and that is a respectable middle class income. If you can manage 4% or 5% you are looking at a wealthy lifestyle forever.
