Fallout is a limited risk outside the immediate area of a strike, resulting in at most a few percent increase in death rates over the next few decades.
Nuclear winter will not last centuries, or even decades, the worst realistic scenario is that we loose a summer, or far less likely, two summers. We have survived far worse.
The US doesn't have enough nukes to destroy an entire 1% of the land area of earth, much less the whole thing multiple times. The damage of nuclear war is vastly over hyped. The world and most of its species will be fine, even humanity won't be extinguished.
Wind power does not work for base line power. It is inherently unstable and unreliable. The speed of wind changes all the time, turbines are easily damaged by storms, and large calm periods are not infrequent. A nuclear powered heat engine IS fundamentally stable, reliable, and impervious to all but the worst man made or natural disasters. I am not suggesting there is no place for wind power. I am suggesting that there is no place for wind power in establishing a base line level of power. Wind is fine as a supplement, and very useful for use in stored energy applications where reliability is aggregated over time. For base line power production, nuclear and solar are the cleanest, safest, most reliable, most stable power plants available.
The PC is being made into a shit gaming system because the consoles can not compete in quality, quantity or ui. The only way for the big game makers to push consoles has been to cripple the PC game market.
And the price you pay for buying d3 is an endless pointless grind to gather loot, to sell to the vendor for a paltry few of the billion gold that you would need in order to have the gear strong enough to farm for actual items. Or you can go on the real money auction house and give blizzard an extra 15% of filthy lucre from the $500 to $2500 it will cost you to gear up for inferno act4.
Any time a rootkit is found the perpetrators should be (metaphorically) strung up.
It's hard to find a car analogy for this, but I can try: it's like a car dealer keeping a copy of your key for personal use. It's just unacceptable and so far outside of proper ethics that even the corporate sycophants should find it troubling.
metaphorically? I think they should be literally strung up.
Some states allow the sale of class III automatic weapons, I live in Florida and I can buy one (with several months of waiting and at a cost of over $10k). I can even rent one for a day at the range with a few clips, its good fun but rather expensive.
There are plenty of other organizations out there defending the rest of the constitution, and many of them choose to ignore the second amendment, or do not believe it represents an issue of civil rights.
For instance the ACLU is very specifically against defending the 2nd ammendment, even if they do good work in other areas.
And the ejected shells often fall into the humvee where the other soldiers are riding. Depending on the direction the gun was firing she was likely either the driver or a passenger.
Put them side by side and you see the aspect ratio is different. Hell, I can tell them apart from a fair distance based on the aspect ratio if they are not tilted.
But the key thing is, both are tablet shaped. The shape of a tablet is pretty damn basic and fundamental.
It is like suing someone a tire manufacturer because someone was dumb enough to give you a patent on round wheels.
"Right Wing" aka conservatism is not and has never been about small government, despite the protestations of those who have fallen for that line. It is about restoring the old order. The order that was shaken to its core by the French and American revolutions. It is about returning to an age of absolute authoritarianism where a select few gentry have absolute power over the masses by legal, economic and superstitious means. The free market ideology as it exists today is merely a means to that end. In America, for a time, the government stood against that tyranny, and that is why they now want to neuter it. The abstract free market concept has been corrupted as a means to pursue that goal, you can't put a corporation under the guillotine, and the plutocratic class are shielded from the repercussions of the abuse they meet out to the peasants begging for scraps.
The free market ideal was an abstract model that can never truly exist because it assumes that: A: all parties start from a level playing field. B: all parties are rational actors C: all parties are fully informed and knowledgeable. D: and that monopolies never form. A moderately (and properly) regulated market is closer to this ideal than a laissez faire system that doesn't attempt to restrict corruption, deceit and other harmful practices.
I really really hate to admit it, but you are right.
We have a choice between a "right wing authoritarian plutocratic douchbag liar", and the contender attempting to out "right wing authoritarian plutocratic douchbag" lie the incumbent.
My America is dead. Liberty and Justice were little more than a fleeting dream before returning to the waking nightmare plutocracy and despotism. There is nothing left to do but wait for this country to burn. And maybe after another dark age, we can try again.
No we can not.

It is true in the majority of the US, where bike and traffic laws are generally (but not completely) standardized across the country.
Or your can set a few thousand lead pellets in it, each conveniently wrapped in a brass case with trace amounts of other materials.
You will never really respect your meat until you kill it yourself.
You won't respect your vegetables until you have grown them either.
Your dinner does not naturally come in a microwavable box.
I have a friend who lives a half mile down a dirt path in a swamp.
When it rains, you have to wade a half mile through that swamp.
A pistol is very much the right tool for protecting against moccasins.
I used to live in rural Montana. A (large) handgun is the right tool for defense against bears.
On a bike you are supposed to follow all the rules of a motor vehicle, and that includes riding in the middle of the lane.

He did not have a high powered automatic weapon.
He had an ar-15 a semi-auto rifle that is considered unhuman for use against deer in some states because of its low power.
A 12 gauge pump shotgun.
And a .40cal glock pistol.
My biggest problem with the NRA and other pro gun lobbies is that they also tend to support the rest of the conservative agenda as well.
I am pro 2nd amendment, but I am also pro 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, etc.

Agreed. At home the floors aren't sticky, you don't have to rub shoulders with a stranger, and you can have beer.

The airline industry is heavily subsidized, the US government pays out billions for airport maintenance.
