And released the whole thing assuming there was more to be found in a pile of data that one man could not review himself in any reasonable time frame. The amount of data involved was huge. It would literally have taken months or years for 1 man to review it all in his spare time.
In my experience, agile is great for developing internal tools. You get stuff you can use early, and it improves over time.
And much less great for developing client products. If the client is aware that the design is in flux, they will insist on changing the requirements at every possible opportunity.
Its big drain is in the amount of time required to track and manage the daily tasks and the pressure to increase the accuracy of estimates. Spending an hour a day reporting progress and estimating the time it will take to complete tomorrows tasks is an hour I can't be doing something productive.
