Fortunately? The exception for rape makes no sense whatsoever. If you believe a fetus is a child and abortion == murder, then the rape exception specifically endorses the idea that it is ok to murder a child if its father committed certain crimes. You are accepting that murdering a child can be ok if it preserves the emotional well being of its mother. That's utter insanity.
At least in the case of risk of death to the mother, you are trading one life against another.
You underestimate google. To defeat privoxy, all they have to do is rewrite the link handling in chrome to go through a google proxy, and compress the data heading into chrome so you can't filter the ads.
It would drop the customer penetration rate... There are metrics measuring the effectiveness of advertising you know, that's why people use advertising. They have solid evidence that it increases sales. When Google starts reporting that a billion people saw an ad who really did not, their sales team starts having to admit that a billion ad impressions == no sales. How much would you pay for a billion ad impressions that generate no sales?
Depending on your definition of bug-free, it is pretty much impossible. No publisher can afford to buy all of the hardware their games will be asked to run on. No QA team has the resources, or even the ability to test every edge case of a sufficiently complex game. The test coverage requirements grow so fast it becomes literally impossible to test in the lifetime of the universe. So yes, genuinely impossible.
Yes, clearly I glossed over the legal technicalities. We're surely looking for something like the original modifier or whatever term the GPL actually uses to describe that person. My only real point was that making it non optional makes it easy for the end consumer who wants the source code to know where to go.
Without meaning to answer for the great and powerful Bruce, how does the end user know where to go for the source code? Per the GPL, they can ALWAYS go to the distributor.
Thanks, I had not heard that, but several studies seem to back that up.

Publishers are unnecessary intermediaries. We want to eliminate them for the sake of societal efficiency. All books should be electronic in a few years, and at that point, publishers will go away to be replaced by publicists if anything.

Well, yes, that one word was in jest.

Most of the fields I looked at 2 years ago had books costing between 60 and 150 each, x an average of about 1 & 2/3 per class, x 5 classes to keep your graduation on schedule.
Autism != retardation. And to my mind, the question of fault would go to the most direct cause. If you're convinced that autism is genetic, and thus the parents fault, please provide evidence, and explain why the level is on the rise among children of non-autistic parents.

Oh it's absolutely illegal. But how would you ever hope to catch them?
I think the GP pretty clearly suggests it is the parents fault when he calls them out for saying 'not my fault' as being wrong.
But I'd love to hear the GP's answer. Did he really choose his words that poorly and meant something else?
Autism involves behaviors that look nothing like the retarded. The drop in the number of retarded is much more easily explained by the improvements to prenatal screening.
Sorry, to clarify, I was referring to teachers using CP, not parents. And yes, even for parents, there is a reasonably clear legal limit where it turns into abuse.
I fail to see how the rise in autism rates can justly be attributed to parenting skills. It may not be the vaccines, but it's almost certainly not the parents either.
People don't think that, it's a legal fact, which I'm pretty sure is what the OP meant. (IE he was in FAVOR of returning CP to the set of tools available to disciplinarians).
It's hard to say if its their money or our money now that the two are significantly comingled.

For now.

That's why basically 100% of content is moving to flash where they can control your experience.
I see businesses getting listed on search engines, and selling merchandise to consumers for a profit. I know it seems complicated ....
Maybe you were referring to content providers? They should sell cheap subscriptions, or get on board with a micropayment provider that doesn't suck.
It would drop the customer penetration rate ...

They are in league. They get all sorts of filing fees and court fees. They make thousands in profit per case for their city.

Can they do a better job? Sure.
I think the core of the problem is: I'd like to play some games. Thanks to the stupids, there are no non-severely buggy games for me to play.

A does not have the right to stop him. A may have the LEVERAGE to stop him, if B happens to have gone crazy violating A's copyrights in the process.

Starting bid of $5400.
Right, but the point being, a teacher who violates that legal fact will not enjoy the time in jail.
