We shouldn't listen OR not listen to anyone based on the history of other people's failed claims. We should judge claims based on their merit/evidence.
Meh. The chance that we will kill all of humanity is pretty low. Granted, it will be hard to reboot society without oil, but if there are enough functional solar panels before the collapse recovery will not be egregiously difficult.
It's just unfortunately a closer call than most people think, and the risk is substantial. You can't ever escape your student loan debt if the increased earnings don't pan out.
But.... as pictured Jumbonium is actually light enough to float. It's clearly the largest (visible to the naked eye), but that doesn't make it the heaviest. </nerd>
What you said and what she said were so qualitatively different it's ridiculous to claim 'that's what she meant to say'. Your statement doesn't even align with her own follow-up attempts to rewrite what she said herself.
And, yes, Obama has made gaffes too. In my opinion, substituting 57 for 47 is a somewhat less serious gaffe than Palin's, but YMMV.
I'd guess that yes, the median person is worse off now than in 1964. What's depressing is that it's a tough call.
Even the punitive damages?
But with the added weight of the tumors, do you actually get a net loss of weight?
Exempting that minor idiomatic mistake, your written English is better than most who learned it as their first language.

You shouldn't have used the quotes around 'idiot'.
He can mock your choice if it's provably stupid. The evidence is against the effectiveness of these checkpoints, and the pat-downs too.

But he's just one of the people who cried wolf before me!!
I am sure this opinion will be highly popular on this site.
I read a lot of sarcasm there, but actually I think a significant majority of slashdotters probably agree with you.

Of course, the problem with that attitude is that just because a bunch of people cried wolf before you doesn't make you wrong.
Bad news ... you too. Sperm quality drops pretty steadily with age.
True, I didn't mean to say otherwise. It just takes longer to break even / get ahead.
Fortunately, the lack of sleep turns everything into a hazy blur so you won't even be able to think about how radically things have changed.

Don't wait too long to have the kids. Your odds of getting a kid with a really expensive problem go way up as you and your wife age.
Your math works only if you elect not to pay taxes, but hey, maybe you elected the non-college path. ;-)
A real geek should be, if anything, a circus performer performing sensationally morbid or disgusting acts.
If you're browsing without adblock, you're encouraging that sort of ad-based-revenue driven escalation of advertising intrusiveness.

I did read what she actually said, and heard the recording to verify. Maybe you should.

That's not what she said. Nice rewrite to a more defensible position, though.
