Actually, I generally wouldn't care all that much about seeing what they post... unless they post updates annoyingly often, I wouldn't bother to hide them from the news feed.

I'm not sure what you think you're accomplishing. The only way to avoid being impersonated is to be proactive: if you find a fake profile, report it.
