Most companies don't actually have a problem with streamers as it's free advertising for their games. Although if it's negative they may use this angle to try to censor. Which can lead to the Streisand effect.
ContentID sometimes still triggers on the background music in some games.
It's like spectator sports, but the audience may also be a player of the game.
I never got the appeal of spectator sports but I do like to watch someone skilled play a game, so that I can learn from it and become better myself.
Although frankly, I prefer watching stuff that's pre-recorded so I can skip through boring and mundane bits. At the cost of not being able to interact with the broadcaster. But let's face it, that never really happens in the really popular channels anyway, you just get drowned in the flood of chat, and the chat ends up being ignored by the player, and there is only conversation between spectators.
Youtube's rapid growth was probably because they made streaming video that Just Worked(tm), seeing how loads of people had Flash installed. There were whole bunch of video streaming protocols around at the time, most depending on plugins that were pretty shit, like RealPlayer.
Agreed, there should be, at the very least, fines against false DMCA complaints. And not expensive lawsuits to determine if they're false.
The system is fucked up though, you can sue people into bankruptcy for crimes they didn't commit. It is often financially more appealing to ignore justice and just plead guilty.

Software, and copying machines too, detect something like this and refuse to continue: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
Of course, this is not fool-proof at all and can be circumvented by simply using older versions, or self-compiled versions lacking this "feature".
Eh, sometimes it's all you have because you know how much developers like writing documentation.
Block ads if you find them obnoxious. Force content providers.
Something animating in the corner of my vision is annoying enough, let alone something that produces sound.
Not html5 video and audio, like Youtube.
You don't even need a plugin or addon for it, it's part of your browser!
It's called "Ask to activate" in Firefox, not sure about Chrome.
That reminds me, you can actually mute the flash process separately too, at least in Windows.
This is true, I tend to watch sports for the fit bodies.
Same reason I watch porn.
Set flash to 'click to play'. This solves almost all instances of it, and also solves supercookies etc.
I've been youtubing flash-free using Firefox for months now.
Caveat: This may require you to create an account and set an option somewhere.
Yeah, unlike the masses, I stream my games on a site so obscure, you've probably never heard of it.

Times have changed.

Enough people believed it was legit to the point they called Thalys. So... looks like they need some more anti-phishing training.
Showing off is not what yoga is about... I think the ones making videos do it exactly for this purpose.
Free publicity!
X-Files isn't the same without him - *SPOILERS*
Last ep made it very obvious he's dead. Or at least, just a skull remains.
Pretty much. Linux is actually really popular and everywhere. Just not on the desktop.
I remember reading this article that said that effectively almost everyone is a Linux user. Because almost everyone uses Google search.
Change the brand name and start over. You can re-use the infrastructure and software.
