    after watching the galaxy gear launch, i asked myself WTF is the point of a watch?
    $299 for a smaller screen to do the same thing you do now and still need a phone. WTF is the point of a 5" screen if you're going to keep it in your bag to use the tiny watch all the time?

    the Nike stuff on the 5S looked a lot more useful than the galaxy gear

    stuff looks a lot better on a 40" or 50" TV than a tiny phone or tablet screen

    i use my ipad and iphone to watch in the kitchen, as a secondary set if my wife is hogging the big one or on the train to work.

    not as good as my father in law's LG LED TV, but its mostly because his has a better CPU to decode the image

    i have a 3d blu ray player and an apple TV connected to mine for all the smart TV crap. 3d blu ray players can be had for $99 at best buy with vudu, amazon, cinemanow, porn, pandora, tunein and lots of other services

    intel beat AMD decades ago when they decided to concentrate on their production capability

    the CPU's have always been about the same and most people don't care about the minor differences. Intel was able to manufacture enough CPU's to meet demand from all the top customers who were afraid to sign with AMD because of their production issues.

    you can announce and hype products for months like nvidia does, but revenue is made by selling real manufactured products to customers writing checks. and you need to manufacture tens of millions of chips to make money, something AMD has always had trouble with

    all you need is a decoder program. its not like the old days when devices were dumb and we had new physical formats for every music generation. starting with CD's and DVD's every new generation of device plays most of the old formats if not every single one. the price of production drops so its not a big deal for new and faster devices to play old formats

    i've lived in NYC since the early 80's and if you were white you were dumb to go to the south bronx or harlem. especially at night. if your kid passes the gifted and talented test to get into accelerated kindergarten, the crappy schools will have spots open in their G&T classes because parents don't want their kids going there

    the website has internet only plans from 150GB per month up to a 999GB
    i'm a cord cutter and stream everything and i'm at less than 200GB most months

    WTF do some of you people do that required terabytes of data every month? if you have a family of couch potatoes go outside, read a book. same thing if you torrent 24x7. buy a dvd or blu ray. It's $100 for a 3d blu ray player. DVD's are $10 each. cheaper to buy DVD's or get netflix DVD's than pay your ISP and the electricity charges of having a computer on 24x7. in NYC my electric bill is $65 or so on average. $75 i get pissed off about leaving stuff on

    not only is apple's R&D growing, Apple's capital expenses are in the billions of $$$ every year. they are investing huge amounts of money in new manufacturing infrastructure. apple's capital expenses are higher than the profits of most tech companies

    After having to use cognos and some other IBM products, I don't want anything to do with them

    Over priced
    Crappy documentation
    Crappy install and config process that seems to break for no reason
    Mysterious config changes you need to make to get it running that aren't documented anywhere

    Ill take me SQL server over cognos any day

    planes are complex machines, they break. one time i saw an engine leak oil from my seat. the point is don't expect them to spend $100 for a hotel or whatever if you spent $200 on a flight. that's air travel.

    same here, unless he locked the case to make sure it won't open accidentally it probably opened when they threw it into one of those boxes they use to hold luggage inside the plane
