    used to be if you wanted to advertise in NYC, you did it in the NY Times. everything from a home to a car to a job. now someone else owns the platforms for advertising

    but then again, the NY Times was always a snobby paper that turned its nose on anything the staff believed was below them.

    There is no such thing as a sharing economy. People renting out their assets and selling services as they have done for thousands of years

    Only difference is that tech is allowing individuals to cheaply advertise their wares. Unlike in the last hundred years where you had to pay a lot of money to newspapers and other media.

    Otherwise this so called sharing economy is just some marketing speak for stupid kids who eat this togetherness nonsense up. We had this small business and individual economy 100 years ago and corporations took over because they offer a consistent quality experience.

    taxes pay for the trains as well, but its not enough to cover the cost of the system
    no reason not to have use fees on the bridges for people that use them. and there is a maintenance cost on them every year. not like you build it and its free to maintain

    yep
    every day the drones will make a list of the peons driving on 34th street in rush hour and the mass arrests are coming next month

    and i'm totally for some kind of congestion pricing in manhattan and i own a car. my wife and i pay for the train. lots of people drive in over free bridges that aren't tolled and paid for by my taxes. there is no reason why there shouldn't be some kind of toll on all the bridges. traffic around these bridges is so bad it takes an hour to drive a mile. charging people for using these resources should be priority #1 instead of relying on taxes from people who don't drive into manhattan

    he jumped up and screamed, we got him. we got him. he's driving to the bronx

    pension funds and other large investors who own most of the stock hate risk. and a down and out company like dell will never be able to implement a risky plan without a shareholder revolt. CALPERS and the NY State pension plans will kill the idea.

    going private means someone else is taking on the risk. usually rich people who invest in these things knowing the risks involved

    IT people would be dumb to ask for these since most of them are simple things like installing and migrating a MS Exchange environment to new hardware and software. or installing Windows with a new PC purchase. the prices are very high for jobs that your IT department is already getting paid to do

    as an IT drone why would i send a PO to my management for approval with a line item to install software that i'm already getting paid to support?

    but if you have some super secret corporate info on your iphone you should be relying on a lot more than a consumer level fingerprint scanner for security
