"To Slashdot editors: please help stop Microsoft by ignoring them. If everyone just ignores Microsoft and gets on with the things we need to do, the beast will surely die."
This is surely not the solution. These things must be shown more often, and displayed to the slashdot community. Even if you can see through the crap that microsoft shows you, others may not. They might believe what they read, and then what? more windows users. The best method of action is to show these myths to teh slashdot community, where intelligent people that know about the topic can give us the straight facts, as verbatim already did. Once users get the straight facts, THEN can we be rid of Microsoft
The one funny thing to come out of all these april fools posts is the amount of people who think theyre smart by discovering that the posts are indeed april fools jokes and must share their discovery with the rest of slashdot
what the hell are you talking about with the april fools! I downloaded it and it works perfectly! of course, having all your information missing after you unzip a document isnt too ideal, but it gets the job done! good job izip, now my hard drive is %100 free!
when i read the first sentence about a company "trying to eliminate the mouse as we know it" i wondered to what purpose would killing all the mice in the world be? Of course, then I read the next line and realized my own ignorance
If you're looking for a more technical summary of Python, you can always read Eric Raymonds thoughts on it. you can find it here. http://noframes.linuxjournal.com/lj-issues/issue73/3882.html
when chris rock is outside the hotel and telling his secretary to contact his old manager, he mentions the words "cisco" and "linux" in the same sentence. I cant remember what he was sayin exactly, but those two words popped out. was this the result of a geeky storywriter plotting subliminal messages? or am i ust going crazy?
oh dear god "A boy and his blob" kicked so much ass! i remember renting it out when i was 4 years old, and not knowing how to play i threw it against the wall in a fit of passion! but even then, something about that game made me want to play it...... dont make the same mistake, whoever has the blob game! figure out how it works, and play until the cows come home!
it is understandable why.kids would not be allowed. people could abuse the name, and create websites that do not do what the name.kids intends. Now,.kid would be intended for kids, and kids cannot view many things, so porn.kids would not be suitable for children, although it is.kids. however, with.xxx it is a whole different story. sure, there will be tons of porno sites using.xxx, but so what if someone misuses it? will it offend the adult if he goes to some.xxx site only to find a website made for kids? i doubt that. and if the person that has a site about flowers but put it under flowers.xxx finds out that proxies are banning his website because of the.xxx, maybe they shouldn't use.xxx as their domain name!
What you lack of in smarts, you make up for in stupidity
