The speculation in Hollywood circles is that a young, hot stud like Brad Pitt might take the lead (Indy) role.
I cannot even imagine Brad Pitt trying to fit these shoes. I think someone more like the guy who played Wolverine in the X-Men would be better suited to the part assuming that he can continue hiding his Aussie accent.
Actually I was fascinated, when I was a child, about the legend of the Ancient Astronauts. Various carvings on stone were found in Mexico (near the Yucatan, I believe) that depicted what appeared to be astronauts or ancient people who were sitting vertically as if in a spaceship.
I think it would be neat if they made an Indiana Jones where he went to explore the Mayan ruins, or whatever, and perhaps fell through a time portal that sent him back to the time of the Ancient Astronauts.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but XML-RPC is a much ligher-weight XML competitor to SOAP-RPC.
Correct. XML-RPC only implements simple containers for vars while SOAP presumably allows data structures like arrays, lists, etc.
IIRC SOAP was created by Dave Winer and Microsoft because there was some need for passing more than a simple but Winer still pushes both protocols even though it seems like he prefers XML-RPC.
IIRC from one of his web sites he pretty much describes all of the events that led up to his being arrested. He is honest about the fact that his contract at Intel's Supercomputer division was about to expire and he was trying to find a reason for them to continue to keep him employed and he decided to use their weak computer security as a reason for them to continue to use him as a contractor. Unfortunately, he wasn't an admin and he didn't get permission to crack the passwords. So when the admin found out that Schwartz was running Crack he informed the security guys at Intel.
Also IIRC it seemed like Intel management wanted to handle it differently than Intel Security which called up the Sheriffs office, I think, to have Randal arrested.
IMHO he only used really bad judgement and is obviously not a cracker bent on maliciousness.
I think it's too bad that the courts came down as hard as they did on him. At least he's not still in prison.
I think the BIO-Bugs are aimed at kids. You're not a kid are you? Yeah neither am I and I wouldn't be interested in a BIO-Bug either. I would however be interested in an ornithopter.
That pretty much sums it up. When Jobs was there in the 70's and early-to-mid 80's Apple was very successful but as soon as he was persona-non-grata and left that's when Apple started going down hill. Now that he's returned it's back in nearly top form for its niche.
Sculley, Amelio and the others merely helped drive it into the ground.
Obviously Wil was joking when he made his remark about voting her off because they were the best looking people on the set. Also I believed that she was also joking on the exit interview playing the part of someone who was ticked off by the other member of the game.
Remember, they always have pissed off people at the exit interviews to Weakest Link. It's a given. They always say something like "I hate her" or "I hope they lose!"
I recall seeing some nature program and a photographer of rare animals said that some animals may not be extinct because it can be very difficult to find them even in a relatively small wildlife area. For example, he said that he spent a lot of time in a wildlife area in some South Pacific Island merely to photograph a very rare Tiger and it took a long time with a camera that had an automatic triggering mechanism (because he left the camera by itself) to take a picture of the tiger that he was looking for.
So, it may be that even in Tasmania there still lurks that striped tiger.
"We spend $150K/year per classroom per year in this state. Teacher makes $40K if they are lucky. See any problem here? How many classrooms in the average school? District? Where's *that* money? That's a far more important question than the tiny sum spent on computers."
Not to mention that many teachers spend their own money to buy supplies for their students.
I believe that Charles Babbage was one of the people who held the position of Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge.
Perhaps it was that they had one of the leading minds in their midst that excited them...sort of like having Hawking drop in on an episode of Star Trek.
What about growing brain matter??? I remember reading about Japanese researchers in the early 90s who were trying to grow brain tissue that could be used for parallel processing type projects.
Actually a book describing FrontPage is cited as a reference of sorts in the patent itself:

RIAA to DoS Pirates?

The scarier RIAA attempt IMO is their attempt to make themselves exempt from liability if they damage a system while looking for copyright. The wording alone allowing for immunity to any prosecution provided that the break-in was by a copyright holder (in the article) appears so utterly vague as to be used as a carte blanche for anyone to break into a system
I agree that this is scary but what if it bit them in the ass? What if Microsoft (as a Copyright holder of Windows) broke into the RIAA's systems to ensure that the RIAA didn't have any illegal copies of Windows and inadvertently deleted the data on all of their servers?
Just desserts?

most sense to me. I was an atheist until I found out about agnosticism and then switched because logically being an agnostic makes more sense than being an atheist. After all, as an agnostic you do take the position that you do not know whether there is or is not a god. This leaves you the opportunity to believe in a god if such evidence where to present itself.
Btw, there are atheists that are almost as fanatical about Atheism as there are muslims who are fanatical about Islam except that the Atheists are against religion.
since I think LEXX is better. The episodes are definitely quirky and sort of like Moonlighting (the old Bruce Willis TV series) in space. The third season had extremely beautiful CG effects.
I am sad to hear that this is probably the last season of LEXX.
I cannot even imagine Brad Pitt trying to fit these shoes. I think someone more like the guy who played Wolverine in the X-Men would be better suited to the part assuming that he can continue hiding his Aussie accent.
I disagree. I thought that Last Crusade was possibly the most compelling of the sequels to Raiders with Raiders being the best.
If you haven't already played this one, give it a shot - It's well worth it, even if it runs in DOS.
I tried playing this once. My ex-girlfriend had it on her computer but we got stuck at some point and it wouldn't allow us to go to the next level. :(
Nope, you mean River Phoenix. He's dead. Drug overdose.
I think it would be neat if they made an Indiana Jones where he went to explore the Mayan ruins, or whatever, and perhaps fell through a time portal that sent him back to the time of the Ancient Astronauts.
Makes sense to me. Hoo-haa
He looks and acts sooo much like his dad that it's scary!
Is this a typo? Isn't this supposed to say 3COM or is there a 3Comm?

for a new programming language name. Why not? Then after that let's make Sapphire and perhaps Obsidian....blah blah.
Thought for the moment:
Does being on Nightline make you respectable?
That's why I recommend not using WU-FTP. It's full of holes! Like swiss cheese. About as bad as Sendmail. Use something more secure.
Remember, they always have pissed off people at the exit interviews to Weakest Link. It's a given. They always say something like "I hate her" or "I hope they lose!"
I'm sure she got the joke and was playing along.

On another note, I hope they are careful and don't release dangerous micromachines that would eat up a city.
