You are clearly lacking foresight. Off the top of my head I can think of a handful of useful Broadband applications; with HD movies available for download (xbox 360 now -- soon more -- apple, netflix...) combined with internet radio, online gaming, web (ads included), youtube, vpn, whatever else you can think of. It's definitely reasonable to exceed 60 gigs. you are not storing this data permanently but it still comes through your "pipes".
Since when did Slashdotters figure out ways they don't need to utilize new technology instead of the other way around.
I thought that "rabbit ear" antennas could still receive the new digital broadcasts (the 2009 requirement)? You'd need to upgrade to a TV that can decode ATSC, or get one of those boxes...
The backwards compatibility of the PS3 is completely lacking. Most PS2 games make use of the rumble feature of the dualshock controller as a part of the gaming experience. And until the PS3 has a method of using the old controller with the old games you will be missing out on that experience, when you play your PS2 games on your PS3.
Too bad the xbox isn't actually in the shape of an X. Like the prototype indicated. So a server farm of these wouldn't be the visual spectacle the article infers.
I'd moderate you up if I could. Very well put.
