Got to love MS dot bomb

  2. Seizures on 'Brain Pacemakers' Being Tested · · Score: 1

At the end of December I was diagnosed with having seizures. Since Jan1 04 I have had 39 seizures, some of which come in clusters of 4 and 5 within an hours time.

This could be a god send for people like me. Currently the tech is not there to understand how the brain works let alone control the mind of the person who has it implanted.

So before everyone gets on their parnoid high horse about this being the begining of 1984, Think about what good can come about because of tech like this.

Quote form War Games " I'd piss on a sparkplug if I thought it would help "

  3. DON'T DO IT!!!!! DIRECTWAY S(_)CKS!!! on Experiences with DirecWay Satellite Internet · · Score: 1

I have been on Directway for the past year and a half. It is the worst thing I have ever seen. Spotty connections their filters sometimes won't let me connect to my web servers for updates. I haven't been able to use SSH. Stay on dial up You are better off.

Thank GOD I am getting DSL in less than 2 weeks!

At least I try to support /. by letting their ads show up. Besides I love thinkgeek!

Hell, I remember when /. was on a single 56k ISDN and on a single box.

    God, those were the dayz........

it blocks over 62,000 different ad servers. So all I get is a blank space where an ad is suppost to be.

    Enjoy!

  6. Here's an Idea on On Starting a Successful ISP? · · Score: 1

At work we have an ISP that has run fiber into the building and sells the different company's access based on bandwidth. We currently have a full 3 meg pipe for less than 1k a month. they even offer pipes up to 100 meg. Something to look into.
