TV's are still selling, and their market isn't nearly as fast paced as the PC market. And if people whose basic needs are not being fullfilled, why don't PC manufacturers try to help those people meet their basic needs?? They have the money to... and then try and sell them some PC's:)
"The law requires coin-operated games featuring graphic violence or strong sexual content to have warning labels and be kept at least 10 feet from nonviolent game machines."
OK... so we now have 2 classes of games as far as the law is concerned "violent" games, and "non-violent" games. And these must be kept 10 feet away from each other. What goes in the middle?? If its either of these types of games, thats a violation of the law. So now the arcades have to have 2 sections, seperated by 10 feet of void?? Hmmm... I don't think they can spare that kinda space, and even if they can, thats where other games COULD have been...
Uh... I would have thought most banner-ad companies were scams?? Isn't it only a small percentage of them that actually pay? If I had a cent for everytime I've heard something like this... I'd have at least 10 cents by now!
Have you ever tried skiing?? Geeks LOVE skiing!!
When Sierra Online started up, their big draw factor for getting programmers was that they could move down and ski as well as code.
Skiing is a sport unlike any other.
Hmm... People always talk about "CPU Price Wars" but I've never witnessed such a thing. It always seems that AMD sells chips alot faster than Intel's at lower prices than Intel's. Then Intel brings out a faster chip at a ridiculous price without dropping prices at all, and then AMD brings out an equivalent chip at a lower price as well as cutting its prices. Seems like a pretty one-sided war to me.
Of course, Intel used to be on top, but then they were in AMD's position and AMD were struggling to keep up ( actually, they were not keeping up at all;])
I live in Sydney, and on the way back from a recent skiing trip we passed through Canberra. It takes all of 5 mins to drive from one end to the other. Canberra is like a country town, and since the project is specified at "North Canberra" I'm wondering why they didn't use normal cables;)
I can see why/. called it a "LAN" rather than "WAN" though...
You're 109% right.
And don't forget, as of yesterday, Daytona USA, king of racing games... is headed for Dreamcast!!

Cars and tracks from Daytona original, CCE and Daytona 2!! WOOHOO!!
Something like this would require major changes to our society. Think about it, cloning of ANY object, everyone now has unrestricted access to guns, drugs, anything. When going to the shops to buy something, no longer will you buy two of anything, just one and then unlimited clones.
No more assembly required for goods... design it in CAD, print it in 3D.
Money is of no value, nothing is.
No more hunger.
It would change the world completely. Most likely noone would work, cos theres nothing to work for, but if noone works we will lose alot of things like entertainment (new movies & games) which can't be cloned.
Nvidia are in charge of OpenGL on X-Box.
Even without the portability, I'd still choose OpenGL it works alot better (faster, depending on the code but usually faster) and it is alot easier to code for. OpenGL is like a sports car, Direct 3D is like a bomb.
In a few years, ms may force the market into using D3D but OGL is better (IMHO).
OK... So I record a show. Whats the difference when I watch it and why does the MPAA care when I watch it??
Either way, it won't be long till there are "mod-chips" for VCR's.
Latency is increased.
Download speed is same.
Upload speed on AOL is slower.
Setup fee is greater.
Monthly/yearly fee is same.
Can work anywhere as long as a point in the sky is visible.
So basically, it offers the advantage of working pretty much anywhere (for areas that don't have cable) provided you are willing to put up with higher latency and a higher initial cost.
Are there any other advantages??
Yeah, a complete contrast to your post, eh??
All those overclocking addicts will finally get to overclock a brain.... maybe. ;]
Or maybe it won't behave like an idiot anymore. Guess it depends on who makes the Neurons... eh?
640 Neurons is enough for anyone!!
If they mimic the brain, won't they get headaches??

Since when do everyday needs take priority?? ;]

Too bad for them seti@home won't work on it.
Overclock it. ;]

Planets form around stars, why wouldn't they form away from stars as well??

If AIBO was anything to go by, these are very low quality and may stop working at any time. After I gave my AIBO a bath, it never was the same...
Thats exactly right -- at least, in my opinion it is. ;]

Would be to blast them with oxygen?? At least any outside anyhow... Right?
