Indeed you are very correct, and if we look at this website.. we see that it is infact done in HTML as well! http://www.anthrax.osd.mil/HTML_interface/default. html and looks just as good =) granted they don't know what they are doing with graphics.. since I"m running here at 800x600 and the right frame is in scroll bars... but...

Indeed. Here at home I have an x86 platform with Windows 95 running. I also have a linux machine on an x86 platform. Now plugins are available for both of these machines most of the time. However, when you have browsers running on these i-openers and what not, that run who knows what... the question really is.... what do you do when you want to view content? I don't personally own a WebTV, but perhaps someone here who has one could comment. What happens when you want to view content with WebTV that requires a plugin? Are you just left out? Or can you do it. This could seriously hurt web appliances, especially with the fast growth of the web, and plugin use.

  8. WOW! Neato! on Honda Creates Walking Robot · · Score: 1

Wow! This is truely amazing. I've seen information on companies attempting to get a robot to be able to walk, but the main problem has usually been a balance issue. About 3 - 4 years ago I saw something on a program calling, "Discovery 2000???" or something like that, on the Sci-Fi channel, about robots and different ones that they were working on. COG was on the show, the robot that can catch the ball when thrown at him. They also had some that would walk, though it was very slow (perhaps like the first self driven vehicle?) however, I'm assume just like the vehicle, we will soon see robots that can walk with great speed.

First of all, banning French Ips doesn't mean no one in France can access it. Secondly, what if for some reason a French type person WANTS to actually look at and purhaps buy this type of item? What in the world is this coming to? If they are allowed to do this, then perhaps they are also allowed to make CNN block it's democratic pages to people who are in republican states, or vis versa! I don't exactly entirely agree with that.
I think, even at a camp, that flex time should be available to the public. For-instance. If I wish to get up at 9, and start working then, as long as there is adequet staff (2 or 3) to cover setting up for the tables, and what not for breakfast, then you know, you shouldn't need those extra people, who often times just stand around. In addition, people are often, i've seen, not doing much of things, and they could be doing more, or multiple people do one person jobs, so in fact I think no matter, just about, what organization you are in, you can have some flex time.

Where a friend of mine goes to school they use a proxy server (which happens to rought through the ISP that I work for) heheh... anyway.. he goes to a public high school. As far as I know though, the proxy server at the ISp doesn't log the URLs anyone goes to. It's basically a Family Friendly type of service, which anyone who subscribes to the ISp for internet access can use. They just put in the proxy settings and then the systme goes through something known as "Bess Proxy" which is a service that available to ISPs from another outside source. I've never used the service, but I've heard it works fairly well. Of course, there is a password to override it, so I assume the students could get around it.
I've heard stories from the person that I know who says that he knows someone who went into the Library at the school, turned off Fortress (the software used to lock down the computer systems)_ and that turned of bess-proxy so he was able to get around to other sites that the school woudl have liked him to not get around to.
Something like, the password for the Library computres was library. If the school really doesn't want kids getting into stuff, then why not make the passwords harder? I know where I went to college a while ago, and had access to some system administration things, the passwords were very eays. Why do school's not choose harder passwords? Do they not care about security?
