    IF I want some burned software I can download it from the net - even after paying for it ;-)
    But if I go to a shop I want a pressed CD - these hold longer.

    I known quite some cases where PHP/Apache2 won't really work together since Apache2 begins to segfault, but I was never able to reproduce it mysqlf, all I have are segfaults in the logfiles - and I can't run the whole Apache on my production system within gdb to see where the problem is. I've you ask the PHP guys for help for such a problem, they aren't very cooperative and tell that Apache 2 is not supported...

    There is the summary of the official "client study" available as PDF file. Since Munich relaunched its homepage I can't find it on their servers anymore, but it's here mirrored here (German). According to this mailing list posting there's also an Englisch and French translation available.

    With the votes of SPD, Alliance 90/Die Gruenen/Pink list, FDP, OEDP, REP and Party of Democratic Socialism, the town assembly followed Mayor Christian Ude's proposal.

    Just curious: Why didn't you write PDS or tell the names of all Parties: "Social Democratic Party of Germany" (Sozialdemokartische Partei Deutschlands), "Free Democratic Party" (Freie Demokratische Partei), "ecological democratic party" (Oekologisch-Demokratische Partei), "the republicans" (Die Republikaner) and "Die Gruenen" means "the greens" - now everyone here knows a bit German, maybe an unimportant part... *g*)

    You don't need to compile X on your PDA, you compile it onyour Desktop machine with a cross-compiler (p.e. using distcc - while the PDA controls only, but doesn't compile) and then install it on the PDA.

    3) Portage. It combines the best of apt-get with the concept of Ports, and I have yet to find that something I need isn't in Portage. While I'm sure that not everything for everyone is in there, the vast majority of people will find what they need, and even lots they don't!

    There were some things I was missing but a (very simple) ebuild script is written quite fast, what makes it easy to uninstall the stuff...

    The you might get a problem when doing

    $foo = 'bar'; ...
    $sth = 'foo'; ...
    $last = $$sth;

    If this runs you finish up with $last == 'bar' or this example:

    $function = 'phpinfo' ...
    $function(); // executes phpinfo();

    This are real-world examples, I used in my applications, and I think it's much clearer if the $-sign appears everytime than only somtetimes...

    It doesn't have trames, tables-in-tables, no scripts no bold-tags an things like that....
