Collecting stats on just the northeast region which is high traffic and high congestion does not extrapolate to the entire system.
Furthermore, measuring the delays during the summer season proves nothing. The worst delays occur during the winter, when there is almost always a storm system (or two) somewhere over the country.
During the winter, it's a 90% probability that a large airport is being impacted by wx.
The outbound flights (at the airport with bad weather), will be the ones that are delayed, instead of other flights whose destination is the airport with the bad weather being delayed.
Ever sit on the plane at the gate for hours because of bad weather at your destination?
Hot, no drinks, no food, no information, and you can't go back inside the terminal.
With this plan, it will be the other way around, because it will mess up less airports.
Firefox is all good and well, but you need to be on a non-Microsoft client. Otherwise, the Microsoft software under the browser still has access to all of the data anyway.
Perhaps it is already doing what the article describes.
SSL would not work for example because it could not
be trusted.
It would only be usable for Multicast where you don't care
about the integrity of the data (ex: IPTV).
In... network coding, routers are replaced by coders, which transmit evidence about messages instead of sending the messages themselves. When receivers collect the evidence, they deduce the original information from the assembled clues.
It's a solution in search of a problem.
We already have Multicast, and those that want to do IPTV should
be doing it over IPv6 (over fibre) as it is efficient.

You're correct. s/and/an/
Space makes H.
If the Universe keeps filling the void by
creating new Hydrogen, then things will
change but not look that much different.
Point taken. I was looking at it from the passenger standpoint.
TFA does not say how they measured delay.
Was it the number of flights per 100 that had a delay,
or was it the average delay in minutes per flight?
From a passenger point of view, it's not that big
of an improvement.
From a airline point of view, yes, it will save
them money on fuel costs.
Counter argument:
Hey, these helmet cams are really helping,
but crime is still there.
Let's hire more police.
Meaningless. 9% is not statistically significant.

Actually, you're probably correct.

Should be called the SCOX hole, for they certainly
have dug one. Rumour has it that somewhere after

Oh, wait.
Bill, is that you?

All of that new NSA equipment would have to be re-worked.
I doubt that the taxpayers would approve.
Digitaltippingpoint - Hmmm, appropriately named.
Good move for Google, they paid half the price for a better known entity.
It's clear the MS is mean.
Just to clarify. We don't want anyone to get the wrong idea.
Microsoft is desperate, really desperate. They see the writing on the wall, and they know their empire is about to collapse.
There is no veto of impeachment. Once convicted by the
US Senate, the president is out.
In this mess, both the president and vice president would
need to be impeached, and both convicted simultaneously
in order to prevent further damage.

Totally agree.
The best defense would be getting rid of the elements
that are inside the US that are actively trying to
damage the US.
The current admin does everything, seriously, everything
wrong, which creates long term damage.
You can predict what their response will be to any
situation: whatever will create damage will be the choice.
The list is long. Katrina is a good example.
