How do you know (for SURE) that the post you just made and the answer you are reading were actually posted on Slashdot's web servers on planet Earth, and not in some parallel universe where you every comment is appended to the file which will be reviewed at the time of your Final Judgement on Planet Zoormash?
Your argument is actually the reason why the machines need to be
open source. How do you know that the paper
record isn't already fudged with the current
state of the software? You don't.
But, upon further review, the courts
can always delay until it's too late.
If fact, considering recent events (SCO,
MS/DOJ) I'd says the odds are good for delay.
You don't normally want routers to be doing
that too much due to overhead. More likely,
this will be some bullshit idea that makes the
machine attempted to obtain an IP address provide
some type of cookie-like mechanism or some type
of challenge-response handshake to indicate to
the router that IP W.X.Y.Z has been Ok-ed.
It won't solve the problem.
More likely, this is a trial ballon
to judge level of opposition to the entire idea.
Personally, it fucking sucks to me.
This is easily another way for the PTB to
spy on you. It would be slippery slope to
the point that you won't be able to get on
the Internet unless you have Windows and
have downloaded the Spyware^W AV software.
I did. My point was that there were obvious clues
that it was a scam from the e-mail (the typos), but obviously
the level of stupidity is too high these days.
You're correct, my bad. I don't believe he's
going to have an easy time finding the hardware
for around $200 in low volume. I'd like to
find that also.
You want this to be properly resolved. We don't
need any more of the bullshit coming from the courts
where it's decided that the case is not strong
enough to set a precedent, so it's dropped instead
of getting resolved. Then they wait until another
situation comes up that is more favorable.
The future of freedom can not wait.
It's not really the space per say.
But unless you have a decently large
writeable medium, why would you be compiling
anything? Where are you going to save
your binary?
Unless you are using Knoppix (for example) for
rescue purposes, you don't really need
all of the developer tools.
BTW, the Knoppix CD actually holds
nearly 2GB of data compressed to near 700MB.
1.) Acquire Rubik's cube.
2.) Turn one layer 45 degrees.
3.) Pop out one of the four middle edge cubes on that
layer (it has only two colours - possibly the same).
4.) Disassemble IP.
5.) Profit!
Does she work for the GOP^W^W Diebold?
I've *always* thought that was a feature.

Clearly, this case calls for the Chewbacca Defense.
This needs to be implemented *before* the elections next November to avoid a mess again.
But they think that is true, and that is what is really screwed up today, especially with large corporations.
When you only believe that it is a zero-sum game, the pie does not grow larger. That is the thinking of the dinosaurs of business today.
'The information superhighway should be a conduit for communication, information and commerce, not an expressway for crime,' Ashcroft said."
Communication - What they want you to hear, read, and see.
Information - What information they can collect on you.
Commerce - What money they can extract from you.
See GOP - Greedy Old Party.
You pay for the right to make a credit card transaction with a credit card. It's recursive. The banks love it.

This entire concept needs to be stopped!!!!
*Ahem* Sorry, I can't hold back, that should be "you're", not "your" you insolent twit.
Yeah, it's called "Kill GPL". Won't happen if enough people pay attention.
They are truly smoking some bad-ass shit.

Some clues are just too obvious.

Using uClibc and busybox and your own Linux kernel.
Did Linus have anything to do with the IBM contract?
Just following Microsoft's lead with the tried-and-true security-by-obscurity method.

And for an extra $200, it *may* run correctly without crashing.

I agree. The 4x4 cube is harder. The 5x5 cube can be solved as just a variant of the 3x3 cube.
Well, did you put it back together properly?
If so, then you're not really a bad person.
Bad people put them back together in non-solvable positions.
