Actually they want a variety of 3d card ranging in power, as they want to be able to test the game in as many configurations as possible. (Obviously as debug code is still in there they will be aiming a bit higher end than the final though)
While some members of the ACLU are hopelessly left wing to and extreme. The organization itself has tried its best to maintain its dignity. It has even defended the KKK because it realizes that if it want free speach it has to be all the way, and fair. Please do some research before you post next time. I know the ACLU is spoken of horribly among right wingers, (and there have been times when the ACLU has deserved its reputation) but please, think for yourself, and find out whats really going on.
Actually many offices have their employees home pages to either google or yahoo. I have mine goto yahoo, considering google, but they would probably freak. I know most of them panic, when yahoo is down, and they don't bother trying any other sites, or don't know how to, I'm not quite sure I want to know.
Thats weird, I posted this in reply to the guy who said "That's easy. Publish it on the usenet. Short of total Earth destruction, that piece of work will never get lost." I don't know how it got attached to your comment:(
If you put 1's in just one section and put 0's in all the rest you can see how man points each language has per percent you give it. Anyways, the reason you can't get perl to be top is because according to his figures. Python beats perl is everything except speed and popularity (may be true, may not) and c/c++ stomps both in those sections and you can get perl to have a higher score than python or c++ but not both at the same time. He needs other indicators obviously, ability to run non compiled code with speed might be a good one:) Anyways its actually heavily biased towards C/C++ with C/C++ getting top scores for everything excaept ease of lerning (gettering vy low score, which I don't agree with) and each of use (getting moderate score).
What? are you kidding, we've already lost HUGE chucks of old usenet. Its taken major work to find them again and put them online in archives. Usenet is not permanent by no means, things get old is simply dissapear frequently.
Yea, and in those 2 weaks they can do a lot of damage. I think the point of security is to make sure noone gets in, period. Saying oh we can have weak security, but anyone who breaks in will only be able to get in for 2 weeks is REALLY stupid! Only place where constantly changing passwords would be helpful would be in a situation where you give that person the new password each day, or hour, using some sort of technology to distribute the secure password to them (electronic badge etc).
Ok, so explain to me. Why would you force users to change their passwords frequently. If you want them to have a complicated password and keep in in their heads, you really can't expect them to change it frequently. Best thing, assign them a password like S3G$5.2d# or whatever preferable generated, and convence them to not write it down, (or write it down for a few weeks untill they can remember it, then give it to you to make sure its destroyed) why would you need anything more? Sure, change the password every year or so, but seriously. What does changing a password every month help security except for enourage people to cheat.
Yes, but I guess that really depends upon the software. If you steal quake 4 and just to justify that people will just laugh at you, mainly because you don't need quake 4. While you may need MS office for many reason, and while you may be willing to pay 40-50 dollars for it your not going to find it for that price. Infact I'd almost bet that the development cost of the quake 4 (or doom2 or whatever) is very close to the cost of office 2000, but good luck paying any reasonable price for it. Because they know you need it any they have got you hook line and sinker. Noone makes billions of dollars selling things at a reasonable price.
I emailed the site owner this morning, saying.
I have to ask? How many massive bong hits did you have before comming up with this site? Its great!
and got the following reply.
John,
Santa's sled is powered by reindeer not 'bong hits' (whatever that is). Our technology is supplied by the incredibly complex NORAD tracking system, the website by STK and AOL.
Keep checking out the website throughout the day.... Santa will be over Doak Campbell stadium in a few hours.
Go 'Noles.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years

They took the time to figure out I was from FSU area from my ip I guess. Very impresed:)

Hu? it states very clearly "note: for this top 250, only votes from regular voters are considered." So its not the newbie factor, but I'm sure the oh wow factor does come into play. Anyways for this to happen has generally been a rarity, so it is newsworthy.
although his leaving out the details of Bill the Pony and his thing about Saruman "joining forces" and not designing his own ring were kind of questionable.
I never read the books, though I will soon, please explain? I'm curious. Btw which one was Saruman? (sorry to many characters whos names where only mentioned briefly)
Umm, if you went by ticket sales, that would state that titanic was one of the best movies of all time. And by many non tech people, it might be, but I wouldn't take the word of those people, they are nuts.

oh my god! the they are SO evil, you are getting a decent connection for to the internet for like $30 dollars more than cable. Oh you should just switch from them and use that wonderful 56K modem, oh that cost $15 dollars a month for an extra phone line, oh it also cost another $15-20 dollars a month for a decent ISP. Oh you are so getting ripped off by those evil Charter people! I feel SO sorry for you!
(btw if your ping times are worse than 56K (generally above 400 for most modern games with many clients) I apologize for all previous statements )
Umm and you really expect to be able to pay residential cable modem rates for that kind of use? Seriously 10*60*60*24 is 864 Gb per day. Seriously, for less than 100 dollars a month, get real, or go buy yourself a T3.

c isn't very far off, if you increase the speed of execution expectation it'll eventually say, ok you need C/C++

No, it wasn't a typo. I think its spin, I'm not quite sure though, but I've seen the word used before when talking about sattalies.

Then you'd have to encrypt the the content files you include, that would get icky, and slow the game down.
hehe just try getting into an updated paladin server, set to auto perm ban anyone detected of having any cheats installed period, if and or buts.
Yes, but you probably couldn't include code to require cd-keys and such as if its open, it would be impossible to safeguard.
