i mean come one what is with this i work at a school an no matter how much we try to censor that stuff that is accessed there is still stuff put on there that should not be or secruirty overrides done, part of it is the use of a mutli platform network which i persoanlally say and take responsibility for NOVELL SUCKS FOR DUAL PLATFORM SUPPORT, the thing about these thing is that you can't hold the schools accountable for this cause they aren't the ones downlaoding the stuff its the students that use it that should be held accountable, no don't get me wrong i am all for napster i love it there is alot of music from europe such as euro dance and alot of techno that never makes it to the us that i find over napster and have tried to buy but no one in the us will even order it and most of out of country music sellers are in another language that i don;t understand, with all sense schools can not be held account able for this, and on another note wtf is with evey one sueing each other its like i live in la again, every ones trying to milk evey little thing that happens even if the goverment steps in to help and takes care of the problem or not, now i persoanly hate the gover ment but dawm the recodring industry gets compenstated for the music that is piratad and the gross estimated loss of income due to pirate'ing and yes still these dawm people are complaining, what 50 million dollars isn't good enough for your greedy littl asses any more, take the dawm money and leve us alone and if you try to sue me good luck getting passed the dog and after that good luck living through a shotgun blast >:
well being in the networking deployment and repair field and having expericance in working with schools and other companys that have mission critical infromation i would suggest useing solaris for the simple reason that the a business copy is less than microsoft copys and does not require pre computer linceses just lincenses that cost about $300 i belive for your each server, now another reason i perfer solaris is that that hardware that sunsells is very redundant meaning in the case of glitches many of there servers will automatically reboot and check the file systems and with tremendouse speed that is required when your dealing with huge databases, that and it is ver stable yes sad to say more than linux as for the software my guess would be that company that sells and supports it proably has support for unix you just have to talk to there sales departments.
ooh wah and when was the last time apple was used for super advanced number crunching, any way apples stuff is all through the d\usage of a plugin which is off there verlocity instruction chipset any way who is stupid enough to buy a apple for any thing inportant they would buy a sun workstation before they would spend the cash on a apple specialy becuase you look at the price apple wants then you realize that there software support is crap, then you take a look at sun then you realize that the os is very common very powerful and reprogrammable you don't need a plugin to get a giga flop out of it and its not to much more expensive than a apple and it has variable cache sizes
thats sweet man i will take 2, humm i bet that has some power requirement,i wonder how long it will be before your common every day laptop pulls a gigaflop, proably not long linux on my machine says that i run around 1600 due to my dual processor configuration,also go to crays website http://www.cray.com they have a 148mb mpg that talks about new product lines and the way the medical industry has to compute cells and how they work with each other and a estimated speed requirement of 1 petabyte
man this is 3 times now every time i get on top of my car and start curseing for it to bring it on and every time the end is to much of a wuss to mess with me, either that or the sight of me naked on top of a car curseing with a bottle of tequila in one hand is to much for it bear:)
Come on this is another intel pain in the ass, hope fully this will not be like the c440gx board requiring a case the only intel sells to work properly and have the right powersupply i mean come on $1200 for a case for a machine thats kinda insane, and i am sure not buying a new cause i will modify the $750 server chassie that i have right now any whoo the next chip i am buying from intel will be dual or quad itaniums just becuase there going to be the best stuff out there for graphics:)
