noscript has an option to block flash and other plugins, but it only blocks flash until you allow it. If you reload, the video starts immediately (until you start a new browsing session).
That's absurd. When I started using noscript, I spent a little time setting up my most frequently used sites. After that and a week or two of normal usage, my list was well populated and I rarely had to add anything. Nowadays I have to temporarily allow something a few times a week at the very most and maybe once a month I decide to add something to the whitelist. And it only takes about 30 seconds, tops, to allow or add something.
I do keep a backup of the whitelist, so I will not have to re-enter it at some point.
MenuetOS is a current OS that is written entirely in assembly (x86). I seem to remember hearing that large parts of GEOS (PC-GEOS, even) where in assembly.
Well, there are a few games these days with native Linux support, and some others with *official* Wine support. I doubt SC2 will have either one, but it would be nice. And I imagine it will run on Wine, but it may be a while before it works well.
There is really no reason to buy Cedega anymore, wine is getting pretty good. If anything, buy Crossover Games, as they actually give back to Wine, unlike Cedega's broken promises.
You can run xorg without a config file now, but you don't have to (I believe that was also true in xorg 7.3). And every version recently has been making more of the old config file redundant or unneeded. Instead it relies more on autodetection and sane defaults, which is a good thing. But you can still use the config file to override, if needed.
What I mean is, creatures like sharks, the crock family, turtles(?) have such fierce immune systems (ie molecular acid for blood) that they can afford to live basically forever.
People keep saying that, but index2 has always looked fine for me on SeaMonkey 2.0a on Linux

the only thing I can think of is that it blocks the flash if you revist/reload a page where you already allowed the flash in this session.

It isn't mismatched, it is just reversed from the US way of doing it. Mismatched would be "6.399.191, with 96.4%" or something.
However. I still think it is weird and cannot get used to it, despite preferring metric and EU data order.
nice
apparently there was a bk to cvs gateway of some sort

No no, you are thinking of Java. Linux is written in C

The Windows kernel might have a lot less, after all, it doesn't support nearly as many devices or architectures.
>fresh installation
Why are you doing this? Just upgrade in place, like everyone else, instead of reinstalling.
Whichever one you want. I use unstable, personally.

They did the same thing in 8.04, which is part of why it kind of sucks as a LTS release.
It is a lot longer than 1 year
No, I saw the difference, I just thought readers might be interested in the previous coverage.
Anyway if it was a dupe, wouldn't I make a headline like: "DUPE!!! Slashdot sucks!" ? :-)
These batteries are already available, for example see:

This is a prototype of a *laptop version* of the battery.

It is pretty easy to setup an encrypted swap partition (or even whole disk) nowadays.

Intel GMA X3100, X3500, X4500 all support SM 4.0, and X3000 supports SM 3.0
GMA 3000 and 3100 (no X) are 2.0 and won't work.
2.24 -> 2.26 -> 2.28 -> 3.0
IBM gave us the ubiquitous "IBM PC", but x86 is all Intel...
