Yeah, LFS is a great way to practice copy&pasting, and as a neat side effect you get a system you're guaranteed to never be able to maintain, ever. I also did it, and literally drowned in job offers afterwards. Turned them all down though, an Xorg update came in at the same time
You're so alpha nerd, i barely dare mention that it's stupid to rate/compare OS in terms of their nerd factors. Also i assume you're mentioning OpenBSD because it happens to be the most exotic OS you once heard about. How's NetBSD less nerdy, btw?
At what rank in the nerd OS hierarchy should i put myself for using FreeBSD?
You posting as AC makes me wonder what that ubiquitous software of yours actually is, which we allegedly all rely on. Must be something embarrassing...perhaps MS Outlook?
Actually i was just wondering how it became +5 Insightful, while being a ridiculous and obvious false statement. You're doing a great job at ignoring that in your otherwise very entertaining rant about how the US is right and/. is shitty.
How did this become +5 Insightful? WTF? Is it because it contains the magic words "Europe doesn't have"?
Except that our juridical System (fortunately) doesn't include a ridiculous entity like a "Grand Jury", the rest of the 5th Amendment does have an equivalent in Germany. The main difference being perhaps that it isn't an "Amendment" over here, which speaks for itself.

Yeah. When talking about programming languages. His choice of words is perfectly fine. Next time, when nitpicking, at least do it right. You'll look less like a moron then, too
I'm undead, you insensitive clod!
instead of first quitting and then trying to find a new job, you could try first to find a new job, and then quit your old one.

Will you guys be able to get any sleep tonight, after seeing (and replying to) what appears to be an actual woman on /.?
My question was of rhetorical nature. Thanks for answering it anyway.

your point is void
and how many real laptops have serial ports these days? USB doesn't count since compared to RS232 it's complex and a pain in the ass to use.
because you're AC, hence you can't do shit.
Also, the other day you were gonna "leave slashdot for good". how come you're still here? leave already!
yeah parent is reeeeally insightful and totally not a flamebait...... looks like /. needs to rework their mod point distribution algorithm.
I've tried numerous times to drive a car, and every time i found it less easy than the motorcycle which i'm used to for 10 years.
Therefore, from an objective point of view it can be concluded that cars are more difficult to drive than motorcycles.
Thanks for listening, so where's my +5 Insightful like parent has?
It's DONE! Finally! AC has left /.
That guy has been annoying me for ages
You can't explain that.

yarly. Good you see it yourself now.

Whatever.
never need maintenance != it will work forever
Somebody must be selling lowid accounts.
Worse, apparently they are being bought by children.
Calling yourself a hacker takes away all your credibility. Just saying.
No, your low ID doesn't help either.

It's not a linear relationship since you need additional propellant to move the additional propellant you needed for the extra payload
Store password hashes in the database, but the answer to a security question, which enables resetting the password, in plain text. Cool story Blizzard
well sometimes it is just ... convenient (read: rendering the infeasible feasible) to TX with a little more power.
Actually its below or equal to median quality.
