In fairness to Interbase, we were using the Borland Database Engine as well which was a cause for most of our database headaches but I would not recommend Interbase in a large production environment.

    I thought the best thing about Interbase were the GUI admin tools (IBExpert in particular).

    So I for one am glad the EFF is not trying to take the RIAA to court because it would be a total waste of resources.

    It is true what you say about GOTOs but we program in high level languages which give us the opportunity to describe loops in terms of 'while', 'do while' and 'for' that are much easier to use and understand.

    eg. for (int i = 0; i arraySize; ++i)

    You know immediately that the loop will be processed for each element in some array. Please show me how using GOTOs is more elegant.

At least there are better conditions in jail. They are asylum seekers, not illegal immigrants, just like the people at Guatanamo Bay are P.O.Ws not enemy combatants.

    Oh and don't forget to sing the revised version of our anthem. Instead of "For those who've come across the seas we've boundless plains to share" it now goes "For those who've come across the seas we could not really care".

    Too right. Ruddock did all he could as Immigration Minister to keep the refugees locked up and now he is trying all he can as the Attorney General to do the same. He blames the refugees for clogging up the High Court when it is really his fault for not allowing them any other avenue of appeal for decisions handed down by the Immigration Tribunal. Section 75(5) of the Constitution will always give someone the right to appeal an administrative decision at the High Court so that is where the refugees are being forced to go. If Ruddock was serious about freeing up the High Court he should stop forcing refugees into having the High Court as their only avenue of appeal.

We have both found picking up similar languages no problem but I will guarentee that you WON'T be churning out useful code in LISP in a short time.
