    it was a joke.
I never thought someone would actually take it serious. Next time I'll include a very big smiley.

If all these slashdot geeks would have just SHUT UP about big markets (country's) going to Linux, then maybe M$ would never have noticed this. (Microsoft also reads Slashdot...)

So from now on no more Linux success stories on /. OK!

Caching is important here...except for playing video's, your computermonitor is 99% the same as it was 1/50th of a second before that.

Just look at RDP over IP, works fine, even over a 56Kb modem connection.

    They do pay :
They paid 120 EURO to a 'geek-owned shop' for installing e-mail.

    They have a reason :
Customers ask to order by e-mail instead of phone/fax.

They got burnt yes, so OUR meat now costs us more. And I cannot see how receiving a couple of text-based e-mails every week can be called sucking bandwith.

For me, the net is better than it was in the past.

Excactly, for you it's better. For the average user, it's worse.

For example the company were my mother works. They sell frozen meat, and they don't care about the internet, they don't need it and don't want to know about it unless it profits the company.

Due to many people asking them for their e-mailaddress they got one, installed by the local shop (using outlook Express on Windows 98).

Last week they lost three days of work thanks to some e-mail virus. All invoices of three days, can you imagine the problem ? I just installed netscape messenger 4.75 for them. They still don't believe it's for free...

Anyway, i think it's important that the 'net' is OK for everyone, not only for geeks.

    Legally not DVD's ? So what ?

The movies that i write on DVD+RW play perfect in my home player (Philips 711), and in my Wintel's DVD player (Creative).

So what's that confusion all about ? My 'uncle bob' will see this disk as a normal rewritable DVD.

    cheers,
