  1. Re:Upgrade? on Doom 3 System Requirements Revealed · · Score: 1

I agree. Most of the people who think Halo is the best FPS ever have never played BF1942 or UT2004 or any number of other FPS PC games. It is the same thing as in high school when one of my friends thought Goldeneye was the best game ever... while at the same time I'm playing Half-Life and Counterstrike where you could actually look, shoot and aim... all while moving.

The graphics quality will be a lot less detailed, but then again, it is better than nothing i guess.

These minimum requirements make me wonder about how much level of detail will be stripped out of the Xbox version. I know the Xbox doesn't have to run a full featured OS like XP, but still... I'm glad I'll be playing the PC version!

The whole point is that console gaming sucks. It really does. Bad graphics, low resolution, rushed out games that take 4 hours to beat, and complicated control schemes smashed into too few buttons.

"This is supposed to allievate some of those problems. Which is good."

How does this alleviate anything?? This system still plays the same PC games!! there will still be graphics settings, hardware incompatibilities and 'we'll-fix-it-later' patching...

I play console and PC games and have fun with both. Both have strengths and weaknesses.

  6. all opinions on Computer Gaming PCs Try To Stack Up To Consoles · · Score: 1

I guess it all comes down to opinions. I think FPS games are MUCH better with mouse and keyboard than ANY controller out there. Also, I think RPG's are better on PC too. In fact if a game comes out on both console and PC (like Splinter Cell) I always get the PC version. Better controls (opinion), better graphics (NOT opinion).

Finally, in my opinion, this thing will go out of business. PC gamers dont want to play PC games on their tv's. Console gamers biggest argument is that PC's are too expensive; so now people are going to pay 2000 for a PC that only plays games? Try word processing or web surfing on a tv, IT SUCKS ASS!!

Mark my words, this thing will go out of business. And PC games will never die!!!

  7. Re:Why? on Napster Strikes Deal With GWU · · Score: 2, Insightful

I don't think it was the students that demanded to have to pay for something that none of them wanted in the first place. At PSU this was done without students even knowing until the deal was already done. After the deal most of the news stories were about how none of the students wanted to be forced into paying for (on tuition bills) something they never asked for or wanted. How fair is it for a person who already has a subscription to iTunes or something else, to have to pay for another, crappier service and have no choice about it?

  9. Re:Violence Begets Violence on Violent Video Game Law Struck Down · · Score: 1

I respectfully disagree. Maybe violence tears apart families, but that violence is definitely NOT caused by video games, music or movies. That is just ridiculous. Families have been torn apart by violence since the beginning of human existance.

Heres an example: Have you ever heard of Leopold and Loeb? It was the crime of the century before OJ came along. It was these 2 kids (about the age of the Columbine kids) that kidnapped this kid for the sole purpose of torturing and murdering him. This was a long time ago, before violent video games and rap music even existed. People probobly came up with elaborate excuses and reasoning to explain how it could happen, just like with Columbine, but the truth is, both times it was just a case of a couple kids being FUCKED IN THE HEAD!

Making it so you have to be 17 really isn't that bad i guess, as long as they never ban them outright. That will never happen though, and if it does, i will be exercising my second ammendment right... in front of congress, baby. Wait, maybe that would be a little counterproductive. It is just another example of the government trying to make another "War On Blank" and wasting everyones tax dollars. Thank god it will never go that far... To many of us gamers out there to stop. I will vote for any candidate who says he will declare "War on Stupid Parents who are Afraid to Spank their Kids"

How much money does the war on pot cost us all? First of all we have to pay for all the law inforcement, then throw in the fact that most people housed in jail are there for drug related "crimes". Then consider what would happen if drugs where all legal... Drug dealers would be out of business, so there goes all the drug related murders. And i'm sure the goverment would tax the hell out of it, so instead of spending billions a year, we would be making tons of cash... Talk about getting rid of the deficit! Finally, ask yourself this: If all drugs were legal, would i do cocain or heroin? If you dont do them already then the answer is probobly NO!

This is getting out of control today. I remember when i was 8 or 9 and my parents finally got us an NES. I was playing Mario showing my mom how cool it was and i fell in a hole and said "I died." My mom totally freaked out and made me promise to never say that "I died" again. I remember thinking to myself "Jesus, does my mom really think i'm that stupid?" Well, apparently she thought my young impressionable mind would start to think that if I died for real, i could simply push restart or get a "One Up" like I could with mario! I guess my point is that kids are not quite are retarded as adults sometimes think.
