According to your hypothetical situation the actual invasion of my house is the invasion which according to various state laws would be illegal.
I fail to see how the possession and sale of legally obtained data is a threat to anyone. Like guns or automobiles it is the use of the product that determines the threat or legality. For example it is not illegal for me to own and drive a legally purchased and registered car. However it is illegal for me to drive the car in a way that violates traffic laws such as running red light. Were this to occur, the legality of the car being produced, sold, purchased, and possessed is never in question.
Palm based devices suck. Microsoft Windows Mobile based devices suck. Yeah yeah yeah everyone loves their $500 millions-of-colors-video-camera-phone-wireless bricks. Sorry, but a low cost simple PDA with long battery life would kick ass. If Apple could put out a quality iPod Mini priced Newton that fits into my pocket I'd buy one in a second.
For a cheap and enjoyable solution, find yourself a text based MUD and play an hour a day. Forego programming function keys and scripts. That will get your typing and reading skills up to speed. What is a MUD? It's like EverCrack except you read, write, and use your imagination. Oh, and generally they are free. After a couple years of moderate MUDding at university I could type "recite recall" faster than any of my friends and family.
... is the answer to your question. Some people think HTML email is evil, some don't. So what to do? Give them a choice. A lot of mailing lists that I subscribe to offer subscribers a choice: plain text or HTML. Let your subscribers decide what they want.
P.S. Suggestion: default to plain text because HTML is, in fact, evil.
TFA never says "first time". In fact, the WebSideStory article referenced in the CNN article never says "first time". Moreover the WebSideStory article says that IE dropped below 90% a couple months ago. So if this isn't the "first time" by either account, how is your assumed comprehension of what the poster meant more correct than mine?
Ever since I've switched, AdAware has found ZERO spyware/malware incidents!
That is an excellent selling point for FF but the malware issue concerns more than just a browser. (With apologies to Dijkstra) AdAware and the like can be used to show the presence of malware, but never to show their absence.
I completely agree with your reason. Although I would consider it a meta-reason rather than a practical one. Do you happen to also actively use a higher form of desktop search beyond becoming familiar with them?
Does anyone else out there consider themselves an above-average to power user and completely not care about the desktop search battle?
I'm sure there are those that do care and think everyone else should too, and good for them, but I want to hear from those that don't care for whatever reason.
Is it going to start paying for your support bills after it reaches end of life in a June of this year, 2005? I'm not even going to comment on the support costs for NT that passed EOL almost 2 years ago.
Personal information brokering and identity theft are big businesses. Why would anyone want to limit their market? If you restrict access to personally identifiable information you'll be taking away money from an ever expanding industry. There should be a law against that.
Here's some advice: never apply to a job listing. Those are the jobs that companies can't fill for a reason (e.g. no one wants it or no one can do it). The best way to get a career-type job is through social networking.
Don't have the luxury of a social network? Then build one. You're going to need it sooner or later.
Nothing like watching a great show and having to minimize the link for the latest viagra pill with your kids.
Outstanding point. My brother is equally if not more concerned about what ads his children are exposed to while watching TV. One solution was to filter all ads with the notion of there never having been a worthwhile ad to watch. The assumption is that all ads are harmful to children. TiVo was a device that could help parents accomplish such as task.
If you want to play the game you have buy or work for it like everyone else. Start googling or PayPal me US$50 and it's yours. ;)

Whoa, dude. Reading comprehension problems?

Were you born after 1998?
Internet Explorer has slipped below 90% usage share for the first time.
First time? Was the author born after 1998?
Texas Democrats ... are Republicans anywhere else.

Here's a link to the google cache of Maureen O'Gara's "Exclusive: Who Is 'PJ' Pamela Jones of Groklaw.Net?"
Wow. Do we work at the same company? You just described my last 1.5 years perfectly. Now I have the shivers.

My browser is not your marketplace. My inbox is not your marketplace.

W2K does everything that we need

One of those lists makes me feel kinda weird though. I have four of those out-of-print books on my bookshelf. Time to update I guess.
Could it be coincidence that Comcast is currently experiencing DNS issues? Probably.. but it makes me wonder.

when someone asks if I have seen something on TV, it's an ad they're talking about, not an actual show.
I know some marketing drones that would love to hear this statement over and over again.

I still want a Vulcan FlipStart. It will probably come bundled with Duke Nukem 3D.
