Over all, I think that Corel did a wonderful job. On any modern machine, the install is quick, easy on the eyes, and any idiot can install it.
And since, its still Debian underneath, nothing is sacrificed to make things pretty. dpkg and apt are still there. I ditched kde and went back to using the Debian mirrors for upgrades, which worked fine.
I am going to start suggesting Corel for newbies in the local LUG. Its a nice gently way to introduce them to Linux. As they become more experienced, they can still enjoy the full power of Debian. Its about as close as anyone has gotten to the best of both worlds.
I'm glad that you've grown a thicker skin since the first preview of the script was posted.
I think that you are doing a wonderful job. Of course, the book will always be better than the movie. I am sure that you will create an enjoyable, meaningful two hour movie.
Its just cruel telling us about the movie so far before the release date.:)
Lets have a little dose of reality here. These machines are still playing catchup with x86 machines, AND they come at a hefty price premium. Unless you have a religious attachment to Mac (which I can understand, some people just like the Mac way of doing things), this is not the best bang for the buck.
Thank you. If I were submitting a technical paper I would use a spelling checker. It is not worth the effort to spell check these little web entry boxes.
Just because you don't have to consciously "think" about all of things that are necessary to stay on a bike does NOT mean that these things are not going on in the brain. It simply means that they work more-or-less automatically. The brain still plays a very big role there.
You still need to search linearly through your entire desktop. You could just throw icons on a desktop that can scroll infintely up and down and acheive exactly the same use.
Actually, in Snow Crash the lasers scanned across his glasses, not directly into the eye. The Snow Crash method wouldn't be very practical, since it would be difficult for the stationary laser emmiters to hit the glasses if the user turned his head.:)
Umm, no, he didn't speak to Chris Rock's character.

Bad spelling I can understand...:)
The grammer in that paper is apalling. I hope that english is not the author's native language.

It does not seem very useful to me.
