How has the promise of development and testing from Macromedia for better support of Dreamweaver and Fireworks affected your work? Have there been any results from that?
okay, i'll bite. no no no, and no. what you describe is, in fact, 100% illegal and not occuring in the alf-cio represented unions. you have the direct OPTION to specify the amount of money to donate to your specific union's PAC. if you decide to enroll in that, then yes, you give some of your pay back to the PAC who then gives it to whatever candidate they want. but you can't be enrolled in it without your say, and you most definitely aren't putting money into democrats' hands by working union. you CHOOSE.
oh god, please don't remind me of the cassie...in high school we built our first studio around 6 of them. I don't know, between their uncanny ability to constantly crash, or the excessive render times, they were definitely worth the price:). made me feel less dirty when we dumped them all for 3 edit* boxes. ahh, i miss the old discreet*
I saw this device Thursday and drooled the rest of the day. While the rest of the show seemed to be a contest in who could put the most flatscreens in their exhibit, OQO drew a huge croud around their tiny booth in the gargantuan Microsoft display. Having held it and played with it, i can assure you that it's not vaporware. And if it is indeed vaporware, then they've managed to pull the wool over the eyes of many exhibitors who all got to play with this very chic device. While form factor is great, the best feature, i think, is the power dongle, which extends the device well past a simple "not a laptop but not a pda" category that is growing. It has vga, rj45, usb, and firewire all of the same dongle, with usb and audio on the device itself....oh yeah, and it does just fine playing back dvd's...Quite the gadget.
Funny that I went to B&N today to replace my copy of 1984...of course my purchase was probably flagged and labeled UNAMERICAN. Yay Bush!

if you're going to copy and paste, the least you could do is credit the source: http://www.ugrad.cs.jhu.edu/~russell/classes/enigm a/how.html
