I'm pretty sure that my first game was Sneakers, but Zyll holds a special place in my heart as the first game I really got into. My dad brought home our first computer in 1984--when I was 5--and I remember being fascinated by Zyll; I honed my reading on that game.
I think it's a shame that Ron Paul doesn't look more presidential, because the guy really does have his values straight. Unfortunately personal presentation is more important in these elections than the mind that will be guiding policy.
This sounds like an application for BeOS called SpicyKeys, which is one of the greatest apps ever. It becomes so transparent that whenever I setup a new box I'm usually quite frustrated until I remember that I need to install Spicy again.
Anybody know how big this is? Besides being ugly it really gives away what it's for. I'd like a small black device (I've seen some companies use them, nondescript and about the size of my pinky) that's not going to indicate exactly what it's for and won't do much to increase the bulk of my keys.
Anything that has to be connected to the device is a Bad Idea®. What if I want to connect through my Treo (or other device lacking the necessary input port)? Not to mention the fact that even if a USB device uses standard protocols there has to be some software to verify against the device; I don't care how standardized the protocols are BeOS and Amiga aren't likely to have the implementations on launch.
A dongle with variable authentication key that can simply be entered manually is likely to be the most feasible solution.
The unfortunate thing is that there is no physical world analogy that's not frought with holes. However the closest analogy to bandwidth is probably property: Unless you fence in your property it's open to the public, but they don't necessarily have free use of that land; it is well with in your rights to charge people with tresspassing. In a slightly twisted way what Fudruckers was doing was tresspassing.
Not at all. If the network had WEP (or any other protection enabled) and the admin had handed out the password, then your keys analogy would be the same. Since there was NO protection on the network no key was handed out, or stolen, to provide access; hell there was no door for the key to go in.
Tagging and graffiti aren't necessarily the same thing. Tagging generally refers to a form of graffiti used to mark one's territory with a name or alias. I don't "run" with a graffiti artist, but I do have artist friends who have done some gorgeous work that would be classified as graffiti, without attaching any form of name or alias.
It maybe doesn't need discussion at Slashdot, but odds are good your Dad doesn't know what a keylogger is.
Actually my dad (a Jayhawk mind you) is even more paranoid than I am. He won't use his credit card over the internet, period. Personal information does not get shared and I've never cracked one of his passwords. My mom's a different story.
On the few math exams I was allowed to use a calculator my teachers were always fond of the phrase "show your work". If the process wasn't shown completely, or was incorrect, the answer was marked wrong.
One thing that intrigues me is what the battery is like in this; I highly doubt it will have an easily accessible battery. With a 4" screen and the ability to delete video when the memory is full, how long could I expect to be able to use this camera before I'm forced to take it back to CVS (or hack it)?
Actually I LOVE the way that Vi/Vim perform with the Dvorak layout. Quitting (:q) is a lovely roll of the left three fingers of the left hand("shift+z x" on a Qwerty keyboard). Then again if you use jkhl for cursor positioning you might want to think about remapping.
Actually it's those "jkhl" situations when shortcuts are related less to the function than the layout on a keyboard that caused the most problems. When I was first learning Dvorak (five years-ago) remembering cut and paste sucked since I'd memorized where the key was and my mind remembered that I was using a new layout but frequently was running a little too quickly to remember the fact it was X and V I was supposed to be hitting (I printed several things unintentionally).
There's always the "Did I fuck up the cron job?" issue. I've heard more than one person new to cron swear because his cron job didn't go off when he thought it would; apparently asterisks confuse some people.
HDs are cheap, ethernet cards can be found for $10 without much trouble, and for a case: fishing line. There's nothing like a compure mobile haning from the ceiling. For a slight upgrade tinkertoys work well too.

No. Zeta no longer supports PPC and, even before Apple announced the x86 switch, had stated they did not plan to port Zeta to PPC.
mmu_man is a reputable 3rd party software developer whose only work on Zeta (AFAIK) is on the French translation. Either way his points are valid.
