It could be argued that sarcasm is on the autism spectrum closer to autism than normal happy nt's. Afte all to be sarcastic you have take details out of context and you usually only socialize well with other sarcastic people.
Talk about stating the obvious, everything has bot an genetic and environmental factor. After all genes are only expressed through environmental signals.
If you automatically dismiss an argument based on it's source it is you who should not be called a scientist. Putting forth disprovable theories is exactly.what science is about, automatically dismissing them is not.
I actually agree with this theory, mainly because it agrees with my own:) I was an autist as wel, and learning to change the level of detail I focus at has enable me to 'see the bigger picture'. The more advanced our civilization becomes, the more specialized we become. Our whole society is being forced into division, into is no longer a place where generalists have an advantage. Should we really not expect this to have any effect on our children?
Of course we're going to have start accepting new additions to our theory of evolution, things which are already proven scientifically but aren't accepted. Mainly that all mutations are not random, i.e., there is a higher rate of beneficial mutations to adapt to the current environment than negative ones. Also that we have mechanisms to rewrite dna. Autism is more of a symptom of the wrongness of our society than some uncurable diseas. We'll also have to accept that autism is just another way that all humans can perceive the world and that entering and exiting 'autistic' states is learnable.
NOThe text to the books are freely available online. The classes or instruction if you so choose is pretty much available at any park in a city that has a large chinese population. It started by freely exchanging printed booklets, it was well established before there were any big gatherings, hence the concern of the chinese government.
There's a big problem with takeing things literally, or just not understandng what something means. Yoga and dao have exactly the same 'superpowers'. Falung gung is just exposing it more. Some may argue that the real problem is that he is exposing too much for people who are not prepared for it. It may even be called evil. Getting peoples 'wheels' spinning is not really something that is tradiootionally done for someone else, it has to be accomplished by one elf. Personally I don't agree with how he is going about doing things. However, there usuall y is a grain of truth in even the weirdest things. Dianeteics for example isn't bad as far as things go, mst everything written in there is factual, it's basic psychiatry techniques, even the e-meter, scientifically we know that there are changes in the human field when there is cognitive dissonance, it just goes on a wild schizophrenic ride from there on out.
Sorry about the caps and bad writing, i can't see anything i'm typing on this stupid android browser.
Um, you do know the US isn't the only country on eart right? Oh wait, you're 'american' right, you guys don't even acknowledge the tens of countries in the americas.
actually it is a legit religion, it's an organized set of spiritual beliefs.
You do have to devote timebut not money, so it's not like scientology. You don't even have to devote time to the organization, just to your practive, just like ajy real spiritual practice.
It's based on traditional chinese beliefs and gung fu practices, just with moee of the layers peeled back. Do you know what christianity looks like with the layers peeled back, i.e., what did jesus teach his disciples as oppsed to the ignorant unready masses? Do you know what yoga, buddhism or dao looks lime with the layers peeled back? Li didn't say he was the one and only god, you do know that practically every religion acknowledges the divinity within right?
It is perhaps you who needs to do more research and explore your own spirituality.
Thanks for the offer i really appreciate it. However I'm going to leave this place and return to canada.
Somethings are cheaper here, but tech usually isn't one of them. I went to an LUG in guadalajara(pop. 6 million) to get an ubuntu livecd after borking my system and there were 3 people there. Putting together your own systems isn't a big thing here so parts are more expensive. Funny thing is, i moved here because most of the produce i was buying in canada was exported from mexico, turns out the same produce here is more expensive precisely because it's mainly exported to US and canada.
You could help me out with something though. I'll be driving back through the states and was wondering if there are any brick and mortar stores that have low prices? If i drive to Montreal I'll pass through TN, does the newegg warehouse require you to order online? Newegg is expensive in canada. If i drive to vancouver i'll pass through the whole west coast so anything there might help out. Mainly looking for hd's external or internal, a cheap 1.99 sdhc->usb, and somewhere i can get a tx2500 motherboard or reballing for cheap. Reballing here is twice as expensive as a new motherboard!
The weird thing is, that even though the US is the driving force behind the war on drugs and international prohibition through their UN clout, it is amazingly easy to get a medical marijuan prescription and quality cannabis for treatment. Completely different story in Canada where compassion clubs are underground, government supplied cannabis is of extremely low quality and trying to get a medical exemption is next to impossible unless you are literally dying within the next year. Hopefully the prohibition in canada gets struck down in december, but from what happened last time the goverment was accused of restricting access (they rewrote the laws to appear more permissive but in practice it's more restrictive) i'm not holding my breath.
ah, my bad if it's not in use. All the complaints i can see are about cross-pollination and the organic farmers have a right to sue because of contamination of their product.
Now while the terminator currently isn't being marketed i believe my confusion was due to the fact that in field trials the terminator didn't always terminate and/or spread to other plants.
Importation of hemp products into the USA was a problem in the past. Canadian producers were having problems with it because of the general ignorance in the US.
Well, that would be all well and good if the terminatoe gene actually worked eh? There's a reason why organic farmers in canada and farmers in mexico are complaining and being sued, because the terminator just doesn't work reliably.
I guess the comment moderations and comments in general on this article are an indicator of the sad state that slashdot is in. High moderation for pro-stoner comments as well as gov't brainwashed 'pot is bad and evil' comments, with little discussion of medical uses and factual information.
It really isn't my job to remove someone's ignorance. That is what pubmed and google is for, besides i don't have access to a real computer or to any of my research. So the two links below aren't the best quality.
The thing to note is that there is only one source for 'research grade' 'marijuana' in the states. They control thc levels by extracting all compounds and then adding a percentage of thc back. Note the producer has stated they have never gotten a request to produce 'marijuana' with cannabinoids or other compounds besides thc. Then again, look closely at how the orgsnization has been setup and you can see how the different layers are setup for obfuscation. Sure they've nevere received such requests because research requests of that kind have been blocked by the other organization which forwards approved research requests. They won't even look at research requests that are looking to use cannabis for medical purposes.
I don't have a medical degree and really it is unnecessary. In fact no other drug researchers i've ever met at conferences or visiting lecturers have medical degrees and that is because almost all real, controlled drug studies are not run by people with medical degrees. People with medical degrees are usually the ones that produce those sad clinical studies with horrible methodology and low subject counts.
What's funny about the comments of the producer is them stating that there's very few seeds and branches now with their new seperator, but these are pre-rolled joints! Nobody in there right mind would roll a joint like that for any purpose, and if there are seeds in yourr medical grade marijuana it's because you aren't producing it properly. Really, adding extra carbon and non-medicinal elements and then saying it's not good for your lungs?
Hows the kool-aid taste? I haven't found an effective NSAID for my jra in the past 25 years. Cbd's and cbn's work but i don't want the high which is exactly why i posted what i did. Please try to not spread your ignorance.
btw, the drugs name you were looking for was marinol and it doesn't have the benefits of cannabis because it lacks cbd's/cbn's. That's precisely why the US government only allowed studies to be done with hemp laced with marinol to show that it wasn't a good medical treatment.
I think the higher ratio of cannabinoids to thc and the specific cbd profiles would likely be more useful for medical treatment for glaucoma, arthritis, and other muscular and immune problems than sativa which is more of a cerebral psychedelic high.
i know i wish i could get natural cbd's to treat arthritis without messing up my mind.
Let's see, decent video player, web browser, ebook reader, good for reading technical pdf's, same screen as ipad2, comparable hardware with anything out there now AND you can program directly on it using html5 and their javascript framework that exposes the hardware.
What the hell are you doing on slashdot because you clearly aren't a geek! It'd be worth it just to carry around programming reference pdfs.
Really what company pays 1.2 billion for some software and then kills it in under 2 months?
I'm hoping that this decision was based on negotiation talks that HP was having with other manufacturers where the companies basically said ok we'll be willing to license WebOS from you as long as we don't have to compete on the hardware front with you. There's a business decision i think would be more in line with HP than automatically assuming they're idiots.
Besides, which other tablet can you program directly on the tablet and have complete control over the hardware through javascript? Javascript being a decent language if you don't use it like a script kiddie or procedural programmer, more like lisp with c syntax.
Sure you can plug a keyboard into an android tablet but no shortcuts work! I want my CTRL+C, V, S, F, O, Z, and dammit give me CTRL+Enter for emails and IMs.
I'd be really happy if i could get CTRL+C CTRL+K working onboard:)
I have seen quality rips, i still like bluray, i can tell the difference.
For rips i can just plug a usb drive into my samsung tv. I really don't care what undiscerning folks are satisfied with. Most americans are satisfied with unhealthy fast food and processed garbage in their supermarkets, doesn't mean i'm going to give up cooking fresh gourmet meals at home and get fat and diseased like all the other losers.
BTW, i'm in mexico and a 2tb drive goes for almost $200 where i'm at right now. Just a normal motherboard (i have a choice of two, one intel, one amd) goes for about $100. I haven't actually seen a store selling cpu's and i'm scared to see the price of memory here as a class 4 8 gig sdhc costs more than what i paid for a class 6 16gb 3-4 years ago. Assembled boxes start at about $500 for the low end stuff, so it really does make a difference here.
As for the sixaxis, do you know of any other decent wireless controller that can be used on an n900 and an android tablet?
I love my hp tx2524ca, but it died a heat death here in mexico. Now if i could just get a motherboard replacement or reballing for under $100. Nothing beats mypaint on this thing for sketching, i wish i could find an affordable replacement. Any ideas? I'll be traveling through the states to canada so i'd be willing to stop ANYWHERE. hmm, maybe i/should lookup hp's offices.
I guess i'm getting old, twenty years ago i was trying to save up to buy ram when it was $100 a meg. Ah those where the days of bat files and trying to get the most out of your 640k. The days of mosaic and a slip connection to canada's first internet connected CEGEP.
Except that picture wasn't submitted by apple, it was made by the site to illustrate what the think apple may have submitted. What we really need is an actual copy of exactly what apple is claiming and what photos they submitted, are they claiming icons? phone shaped? Similar because it can make phone calls?

Then again most of that would vanish over night if it was made legal.
More like smoking linen. A large part of linen exports from china were not made from flax plants but from hemp.
Importation of hemp products into the USA was a problem in the past. Canadian producers were having problems with it because of the general ignorance in the US.

n.b. canadas production isn't much better but at least we have sprays and pills that combine the other compounds with thc. http://cms.herbalgram.org/herbalgram/issue85/article3485.html http://www.cannabisculture.com/v2/articles/2770.html
