The currently in-beta Windows Live Mesh (www.mesh.com) allows multiple users to share file folders and synchronizes changes of the files inside each folder between them transparently. It is amazing.

Evolution/Connector would certainly be a killer app for me and allow me to move away from Windows/Outlook, but without S/MIME support, it's a no-go. Lots of financial institutions are moving to S/MIME as well, not just computer firms like mine. Come on X guys, give us something more standardized than GPG!
Linux compatbility is pretty much enough. MacOnLinux can run Jaguar on an RS/6000 now, so linux on a PPC system not designed by apple can work great. There is also work into getting Jaguar to boot on an AmigaOne PPC ATX motherboard, I think os9 already runs...
I created and help to operate a large-scale Intrusion Detection System running at multiple disparate sites throughout the Internet. All of these sites have their own unique network environments, and false positives occur as a normal part of network traffic.
Through the use of aggressive filtering, it is very easy to eliminate most false positives and false negatives occuring in your intrusion detection environment. It is often easier to focus on incoming traffic rather than traffic emanating from within your network, concentrating on external entities attacking you. If you know for instance that there are no Qmail installations on your mail server and a signature is being tripped accidentally, filter that signature from the Internet to your mail server. It should take several months to properly train an IDS and even longer to train a network of them, but the end result is a very effective device.
The reason I mention this is that the NWFusion fails to talk about filtering, when this is decidedly a part of the game when administrating an IDS network.
I learned all of my UNIX and networking knowledge communally and eventually got a job as an assisstant sysadmin at an ISP. I quit school in 9th grade and did homeschool by myself, and never got any certifications. I feel that your talent and knowledge can be enough to succeed, although I have not yet had to look for a job in the current economy. Anyways, as in any career, your first job leads to other, bigger jobs with more responsibilities. This is the same for me and i'm sure some of my contemporaries. I guess my point is that one should not feel limited by schooling or training, if you care enough to learn and show that you know, it will be enough.

Weatherbug generates massive amounts of fragmented TCP traffic, frustrating Intrusion Detection Sensor administrators everywhere.
Why bother blocking access from web-hosted servers that don't have users behind them?

Maybe i'm naive.
