for windows, try "PDF Factory" which although isn't free, is a pittance compared with Adobe's charges! Also acts as a printer, so you "print to" PDF Factory which makes u a lovely PDF:)
PDF Factory is at http://www.fineprint.com (theres some links to follow)
At our place, we can't even get AltaVista most days, since it doesn't pass the filtering system.
Put it like this. You enter a public library. You could pick up various sex manuals, books that are considered homophobic, racist, or whatever. In fact, our school library contains such books. Why should the internet be any different? Responsable use is the key my friend. Didn't you notice how your early-teens lads drooled over various soft porn mags, only to get bored a few years later!
The internet is the same, and school users must be trusted to browse information as is needed.
I know what you all think, but ICANN are right to reject domains such as.kids and.xxx
IMHO the domains we have at the moment are enough. Introducing many more will encourage people to be wasteful.
By using these TLDs as categories, too many could confuse the browsing public. EG. Now where is slashdot? is it.org because its non-commercial, is it.techie or is it.info or.dev ??? Information would be easier to find WITHOUT hundreds of TLDs
Granted, IE is dominant. W3C isn't saying that anyone has to do anything - they are trying to make the internet an enjoyable and useful experience for as many people as possible. Anything that saves webmasters time is helpful. The W3C isnt' saying you have to do anything
Who are you to tell a customer what the can and can't do. Theres too much interuption from assistnts and support these days. A consumer should be allowed to make irrational choices.
Good grief - reply to them pointing out you could not comprehend their slack English.
"Your website has crashed our server two times today"
This should say... "Your website has crashed our server TWICE today".
Are they at pre-school, or something?

you will notice the ip address, and the hostname are the wrong way round.
